2024/25 David Moyes

Yes, Moyes has done very well since coming in. But let's have it right about today, shall we: we just let slip a 2 goal lead deep into the game against the worst United team I can remember since forever.

That should have been a minimum 2-0 win.

It just underlines to me that Moyes is decent but he's nowhere near being the manager we need from next season to build a team at this club.

We also clawed a point in the 98th minute against arguable the best team in Europe .

The one thing you can’t deny ( well maybe you can… but only you) is that the crowd are engaged, football is stirring our emotions again … last game was rage … the home game before was euphoric …. It’s been a long time that we have actually had something to shout at or get behind and the players are responding and keep giving us things to cheer …

Ilm not insisting we are. Ilm saying it's not as sorted as many of you believe IMO.

TFG are loose cannons. Their record is to hire and fire repeatedly and Moyes is most definitely not their man or anything remotely like the manager they had in the pipeline.

A few more losses and needless draws in the run in will give them a decision to make.

They share their plans with you over whiskey and cigars did they?

Then fans are engaged more because we're getting more activity in the opposition box.

You dont need Moyes to achieve that.

Look, he's here and he's done a reasonable job in the time here taking us to safety, but nowhere near as impressive as his supporters here would have you believe.

Forgive me if I dont wipe my memory bank clean and welcome the rat back into the fold - under any circumstances let alone a mixed bag of results.

I’m still keeping my opinions about Moyes’ performances on hold far too early to voice one now.

He owns that failure to retain the lead.

Stevie Wonder could see we needed to make changes before they got their first.
How come it was only the players fault when we let Bournemouth beat us under Dyche buddy?

Btw, I too was critical of Moyes, his subs and game management against United, he could have done better, but I don’t like double standards.

If Dyche was still the manager the only result we would of expected and even that is questionable is Leicester at home.

I cant fathom how you tolerated Dyche and results but cant tolerate Moyes and his results?

He will take responsibility and I agree Doucs was out of steam. If he made the subs earlier and Man Utd still pulled us back then would they have been classed as unnecessary subs...I think they would. Thats Football.

My take on it wasn't necessarily the subs but we tried to sit on the lead rather than keeping the press and looking forward

Because last minutes of a game is down to mental frailties of this on the pitch to see an easy win over the line. There was no time to act for a manager when it started to go wrong against B'mouth in the PL game here. That wasn't the case last saturday against United. It was obvious that the game had begun to turn - as Moyes admitted in post match comments - but he failed to get a sub on before the two United goals flew in.

It's not double standards at all.

Then that's another mistake for the manager to own.
