David Moyes

He is a really good manager but he does seem to have a ceiling and is not interested in pushing beyond that.

It was that way at Everton and his recent comments about the expectations of West Ham fans would indicate that he has not changed.

However, how happy we would be now if we were where West Ham are.

I don't like it when a manager has already decided that his club is already at it's maximum.
The ambition should always be to want more.

I think this what stops David Moyes from being a really top manager.

But is it not realistic what he's saying. The way the Premier league is currently means that a team like west ham or Everton at best will be on the outskirts of the top. The top teams can always spend more because of ffp and can always attract better players so while the odd season you might have a good one like Villa are now. That will normally be followed by a 'bigger club' taking your best performers and being back to square one the following season.

I don't know what is realistic in football.... certainly it would be difficult but I would like my manager to want to try rather than telling me that I should be happy with what I have.

It's honestly such a f'n pisstake that West Ham fans have the gall to criticise Moyes. What are you honestly expecting? Another club, like Newcastle, who have the audacity to claim they're a big club. Not won a single championship in English football history. And where is this perception that they are known for good football come from? They haven't done so for literally decades. They've been in the second division on more than one occasion. Shut your mouths and enjoy the best you've had in generations, soft arse.

Hello and I appreciate being allowed on to your site.

I have a question. Apologies if others have asked before. But after a while, did you get tired of Moyes' tactics, stubborn-ness and the standard of football under him ?

You'll be aware of the divide it's causing amongst us West Ham fans. True, he won us a trophy but with the exception of Fiorentina in the final, in which we were very lucky, the standard of opposition was average at best.

My own view is that he's sucking the life out of us. As for the 'be careful what you wish for' and 'safe pair of hands' spouted out by his mates in the media, I don't buy into it.

Thanks in advance and good luck for the rest of the season.
Utter madness this. Not far from 4th, playing without a recognised striker.

Most of the players he has brought in have done great, especially from the last summer.

In your last 5 games you have only lost to liverpool and..

Drew with Brighton
Beat Arsenal away,
Beat Man u at home
Wolves at home

And to top that off he won you a trophy from last year with a poor squad. For a guy who is stubborn he is doing pretty well.

Watch when he leaves and west ham will drop off.

Obviously had a rough spell at Utd and next couple of clubs but when he’s been at clubs where he has fit in then he’s shown himself to be an excellent manager.

Very few sets of fans have the luxury of griping about a manager after winning a European trophy and having the team in the top 6 so good luck to you. I’d snap your arm off for Everton to be in that position now.

When Moyes was manager here loads of people were moaning that the football was rubbish (it really wasn't), and that we needed to bin Moyes and get a more progressive manager in order to get to the next level. When he left and we got a more progressive manager we plummeted down the league and we now dream about the Baines/Pienaar/Arteta inspired football that had us scoring plenty of goals and finishing in the top 6 most seasons.

When Moyes bins West Ham off next summer (as he should after the stick he keeps getting) and you plummet down the league, you will realise what you had.

In all honest Moyes did a great job for us. Left us in a much better position than he found us, with not much money to throw at it. Defensive and cautious at times but the team had heart. Watch what you wish for?

We'd have probably been in a better position if we'd got him back instead of Ancelotti.

However, he's never really been able to get a number 9 scoring season after season anywhere he's been (I say this having done no research - but I'm fairly sure I'm right).
