If they go out the CL and get a hiding in the Manchester derby, I can see him gone.

Could see Giggs being caretaker manager and Mike Phelan brought in as assistant to see the season out. They would get an easy ride from the fans.

Naive post.

United are a massive worldwide entity, they will not allow a decade without a premier league title

Yes, that's the way it works, Mr. B.

United simply won't "allow" a decade to pass without them "winning a premier league title".

;)

They will command the title to return to OT in some Canute like fashion.

And if they attempt to take Roman and Mansoor on in the "spending" stakes they will sure be on a hiding to nowt.

And you say my post is "naive"......lol

I really think that if they'll bottle that Olympiacos game he'll get axed....if not... theres something strange going on.....

...they are protecting SAFs reputation imo

They'll wait until the summer. There's literally nothing left for United to play for after the CL, so no urgency.

They are the second richest club in the world; three times richer than any domestic rival. If you think an entity like that goes off into the wilderness for a decade with a whimper you are sadly mistaken.

How are they richer than City ?. The club as a business entity is worth more for sure, but richer implies availability of funds and I think the City Arabs have more of it tbh................

They generate multiple times more than City and are far more secure long term. That's the point I'm making. There's not a chance United are going to fade away or be allowed to.

Totally agree they won't fade away, as you say they are rich enough, but City seem to be setting up for the long term as well as Chelsea. United will not mess around with the next manager though, it'll be a CL proven winner..........

Yup. I think they've experimented enough with the ginger Mourinho, time for the real thing or someone like it.

Not that I disagree, but outside of clear and obvious match fixing, how can they be 'not allowed' to fade away? It's not an easy league right now, with Chelsea and City able to compete financially, Wenger being Wenger, the lot across the park having Suarez and Sturridge.

Then us and Tottenham nipping away at being top 4. I don't think that a team can just buy a title any longer. Otherwise City and Chelsea (and Liverpool) would have been trading titles for the past few years. You need an extremely good manager on top of loads of funds and still require a bit of luck.

Not sure where United will find that manager. Klopp? Maybe. But I think they missed their sure things when Pep and Jose went elsewhere.

You're right, there's a number of factors that secure success and cash is only one...but it's a massive factor as spending v trophy graphs will tell you. The only reason Liverpool have been in the wilderness for 25 years is because they employed second tier manager after second tier manager...just not top quality enough to pull it all together. United have made a balls up of this first post-Ferguson appointment but they'll send Moyes packing and get one of the very best in world football. They may go for Klopp as others say, but they may go for someone like Simeone who's really shown his stuff this past couple of seasons. They can pick and choose from the cream of the crop like that.

The next one in has an easy ride tbh, the only way is up......

So when are we expecting the Moyes retort? This Sheedy volley ( ha ) will ensure he replies and it won't be pretty.
