...he's certainly a good footballer and we can't have too many of those.

He brings something different too. Barry and McCarthy are both decent on the ball but neither are massively creative. Gibson looks to be a bit more adventurous with his passing.

I wonder if he's almost a more sensible option over Barry against teams that look to park the bus? We look so much more threatening when we move the ball at speed.

...very good point, he's certainly has a more expansive passing range and is more of a threat around opponents penalty area. Good to have the options available.

Would be a great option as Bruce Wayne says against team like Swansea last week who didnt want to lose. He moves the ball faster and wider from deep . Sets the tempo faster too and would add goals from outside the box. Great option if he stays fit.

Was really good last night. Looked far more dangerous with him getting us forward quickly. Should play more when we can't break sides down. Would be a crime to sell him.

thought he looked much fitter last night, seems to have lost a bit of weight, pity he is made of glass because he has a great eye for a pass and a very good football brain. I think he is the type of player who will never have long uninjured periods and be able to play 30 plus games a season, but, is a great option to have when rotating central mids, or to have coming off the bench when we are struggling to break down stubborn defences.

Brilliant passing last night.

Could, if fit, be a better option than Barry against teams who come to Goodison to defend.

If he has a role to play it'd be to fill in for Barkley. Martinez will never let go of his security blanket of Barry and McCarthy (other than for Besic). But does Gibson have the fitness to do what Naismith does standing in for Barkley in that position? He'd certainly be an option to place in that position as he's much more disciplined positionally than Naismith.
