Ah yes the good aul Everton fan kneee jerk/snap to decisions on players after two or three games.

Give these lads a chance FFS.

We are not a rich team so we cannot afford the luxury quality midfielder so Gibson for half a mil from UTD is good business simple. Give him a chance. The lad has played not one full game in god knows how long before signing for us and when he did the nxt game he played was weeks apart.

Yes he is not the most skilful player and yes the jury is out even i was not convinced but the fact he has never had a good solid number of full games week by week shows in his performances.

Lets judge him after 10 or even 15 game not after 3 or 4.

Considering we got him in for 500k is a good deal considering the players we have been able to bring in since.

Can pass, makes himself available, and doesn't panic. He is still getting fit !

Edit: I'm not going to slate or saint Jelavic after four or five games. Jesus - whatever happened to taking a calm considered view and giving a player time to settle in.

That doesn't happen here any more. More's the pity.

He can pass. He works hard. It's not going to come off 100% of the time for him, or else he'd have cost £5m no £500k. Still a great signing in my eyes.

He's the first central midfielder I've seen at Everton for a while who looks to pass the ball on the floor towards the forward's feet or into space. He's well schooled but he's been forced to play every match whilst finding match fitness, it'll take time FFS.

He's gash, he's gash, he's ok, he's boss, he's gash

I'd imagine.

i suspect if yet took either the median or the mean of these comments you'd come the conclusion: average. He's an average capable prem midfielder. And that's why he cost what he did. And Its 500k well spent if we never see Neville in midfield again. Oh, we did yesterday. Damn.

Gibson is a bargain signing, dont make any rash judgements, see what you think this time next season,he needs sustained first team football, something he's never really had but he will improve the more he plays.

Could be one of the signings of the window, Sir Alex always offloads to Everton it seems.

Best thing about Gibson is you know they'll be many scorchers scored along the way

Don't really think it's all that knee-jerk at all to say that in the games he's played, he's been quite poor, aside from his goal against Mancity. We're not saying he'll never get better, but surely we can agree he's been poor right now,at even the basics (a lot of mis-hit back passes, dawdling on the ball).

People need to stop knee-jerking themselves and assume every negative opinion given is some damning judgment on his ability as a player.

No ones knee jerking. He just is, and has always been, gash.

I don't think he is gash, he is better than Neville in MF, he HAS to be, and at £500k there is no gamble.

He has already earnt us 3 points, and a few of them a season will see him up his value and be sold to fulham for £4m

I think Darren will do really well for Everton needs to play every week

He got a lot of unjustified stick off some United fans but never really got a good run in the team

Good signing for the Toffees in my opinion
