Last post on this I sound like a broken record , I agree them player you mentioned aren't the answer , but we have enough ****e hawks on the wage Bill doing nothing , giving the team nothing WHY have another one? Keep the money untill we have enough to sign a proper ball player who's enteraining hey ???

The depressing reality is that Cahill and Neville are both in their twilight years, and if Distin doesn't sign a new contract extension then Heitinga will be moved back into CB permanently. We will lose at least two of our potential centre mids in the next two years. Even if Gibson is a small step above these lot, he's 24. With the club in the state it is we cannot and will not be able to afford players of a higher caliber to replace as quickly as the current ones are leaving.

Within 2 years (barring sale of Rodwell or Fellaini) our midfield options will be:

Osman
Fellaini
Rodwell
Cahill (barely, he's already said he wants to play his last season in Oz)
Barkley (doubt it)

Is it sad that I'm desperately hoping we sign Nicky Maynard or Jordan Rhodes?

EDIT: Strike Maynard off that list, Jutkiewicz is on 9, one ahead of Maynard. GET JUTKIEWICZ ON FFS!

I think this will be a good signing for us. We are very short of out and out midfielders, and this will better than having Neville and Heitinga both playing in midfield.

He was very highly rated at United for a reason. He also has a good amount of experience for a 24 year old, which is already better than most players you can get for 2 million. I think this will prove to be another one of Moyes astute signings in the end. Just give him a chance lads. We can't afford to be picky right now, literally.

If the board werent ****ehawks sticking us in a position in forcing the banks on us....

Wed have kept Beckford, punted on Ba, and got loans in...then buying this plodder wouldn't be too much of a problem.

Instead weve sold £17mill worth of players, loaned 3, 1 given a lifeline, and bought 1 for £2mill... the rest to the bank.

Lids prepared to do this all again next season when things get really bad?

We look like Wigan FFS

There seems to be a miss- conception that were well stocked in midfield!?!??

Natural CM we have Fellani and Rodwell, at a push you could include Osman and Barkley but ideally both of them two are ACM players off the striker.

After that it's Neville and heitinga who are defenders playing at midfielders.

Add the fact Rodwell and Fellani miss a high amount of games. Makes him a worthy addition IMO.

And as stated by others you don't buy players in order of priority. Especially us, we need to take players when cheap, when offered!

I could begrudgingly accept this if it was around 500k, just because of his age and because he's an "international". 2m would be an absolute calamity.

not for me tubey, actually the fee doesn't bother me whether it be on a free or 5 million, its the fact that he's coming is what is sickening me

Well i'm only saying I'd take him for around 500k because even though he's tash some stupid newly promoted club next year will pay 2m for him just because he is ex united and an international.

Unfortunately, given he is amazingly going to mug us of 30k a week, that would not represent a profit really.

I woundn't mind seeing him come at all, i think he's quite a good player, he has got a great shot on him, he isen't affraid to take a shot, he has scored some great goals aswell, i think he is a good tidy player. Just my opinion.

Absolutely this, forget about the transfer fee, he'll be on 35-40K a week, that's £2M a year that we could invest in 2 or 3 young prospects. It would be different if he was a guaranteed starter, but my Man U season ticket holding mates are ripping the P out of me mercilessly for this, they think he is god awful.

He's scored seven goals in professional football in his entire career! Goals is the last reason we should sign this guy. Bily scores the odd screamer doesn't mean he's going to save our season.
