Darron Gibson - And If You Know Your History

The Newry Matthaus is among my favourite Everton players ever, relative to the time he's been at the club. Always makes the right decision, always shows for the ball, has a good range of passing and brilliant positioning.

The difference between our play before and after he went off today was striking. Whenever he starts I feel confident.

And I was gutted when he signed as well.

Hello, United fan here.

Anyways, glad to see Gibbo doing so well for you guys. He was unfairly criticized by some of the United quarters and he is that sort of player who needs matches to get into his groove. I've followed his progress from the U18 and is delighted to see him playing so well from you lot. A bit surprised he hasn't scored more for you tbh, I reckon he could easily get 10 goals once he gets into his groove.

He was just a casualty of (as much as it pains me to say it) United's solidity throughout the squad...it's not easy to keep your place there unless you go gangbusters for quite a while so it can be tough to stand out, especially when you have his calm and seemingly relaxed style of play.

I thought the Buckna Beckenbauer was one of our weakest players on Monday but he dominated that game today with the brutal despotism of a Mussolini or a Stalin. It was heavy-handed, it was oppressive and it was ****ing nasty. And this was against a midfield that had 70% of possession against West Ham last week. Midfield general.

The difference he makes to our "engine room" is telling, a very neat and tidy player, sits back and sprays it around.
His shooting was wayward today but it's good to see him having a go because everyone knows he has a strike in his proverbial locker.

watched the game today on argie telly with argie commentary. they gushed about gibson from start to finish - they noticed we missed him when he went off. they rolled out the full range of tributes for a thinking mans midfielder...

controlled the pace of the game
keeps posession but has killer pass in his locker
excellent workrate
neat and sensible passing
gets up to support attack and defends his back 4

the stats tell us when he plays, we definitely dont lose and probably win. fast becoming irreplacable and possibly our most important player.

I think he has the ability to be our best holding midielder for a quarter of a century.

and trappatoni rates paul green ahead of him, the senile mafiosa bellend. happy if he gets a rest during the week though.

Is it just me that thinks he is carrying an injury?

He was very good today, popping it about quite comfortably and one or two balls over the top that were on the money. He tends to do well in this kind of game, away against average opposition, he's got good confidence and is a calming influence because of it. Could be a huge plus for us this season if we're able to hang around near the top of the table.
