If there's one position where we're well-stocked it's right back. Save the wages for a priority signing.

By that logic we're well stocked up front too, we've got Anichebe and some reserve players.

We're also well stocked in midfield as we have Baxter and Barkley, Cahill and Osman.

See where i'm going ? We need an attacking right back desperately. Hibbert and Neville are not good enough.

We've got our club captain plus Coleman and Hibbo for right back. If we brought someone new in then we'd need to play Neville and Seamus in midfield more to give them game time or we'd need to let one of them go. If Simpson was amazing there might be some sense to it, but I don't see enough of a reason for us to move someone on because of him.

Your argument doesn't follow. We've got two established Premier league players for right fullback and another one who was nominated for Young Player of the Year last year. If one gets injured, Moyes would have no concerns about throwing one of the others in. The same can't be said of Vic, Barkley or Baxter.

We have quite a few bodies for midfield but we're lacking in variety. We could do with having wide players with pace or who can tuck inside. How many assists did Hibbo provide in the end? How many better attacking fullbacks are there in the league than Coleman when he's fit and on form? We don't need Dani Alves. We need someone with creativity to play wide right. You've been spoiled by having Baines to think that we need the same on the opposite flank.

It doesn't matter whether they are experience PL players or not, they are not what we need at that position. There's more chance of me playing right back next season than Coleman.

I've not been 'spoiled' at all, the modern game is highly dependent on right backs with pace and the ability to whip a good ball in. If you don't see that then i honestly don't think you watch much football !

That second bit i bolded really doesn't make any sense like. How many times has he even played at RB for us for you to be able to judge ??

We're going to have a very limited transfer and wages budget. Pienaar is a must and we could really do with some back up for Jelavic. If there is anything left it would be a good idea to bring someone in on the right of midfield and to recruit Cahill's eventual replacement. Ideally we'd also bring in a player to cover the left hand side of defence so that they have time to bed in before Distin reaches the end of his time with us. Maybe once we've done all that right back might become more of a priority.

City have recently gone with Zabaletta at right back. I wouldn't say that he was blessed with pace or natural crossing ability. The same is arguably true of Rafael, Ivanovic and Sagna. Walker is quick and good with the ball at his feet, but I wouldn't say that he has been one of their biggest supply lines with balls in to Adebayor and Van der Vaart.

We know what Coleman can do going forward. The issue is when Moyes will play him at fullback in preference to one of the club's stalwarts.

Ivanovic ?

He's been playing there while Bosingwa was out and either Cahill or Luiz partnered Terry. He's not the quickest and he's not known for his crossing ability.

Just out of interest, I've had a look at defenders with the most assists:

Cole 6
Ekottu 5
Richards 5
Kolarov 5
Clichy 4
Riise 4
B. Johnson 4
Hutton 3
Evra 3
Evans 3
Richardson 3
Taylor 3
Rafael 3
Sagna 3
Hibbert 3
Kompany 2
Jones 2
Samba 2
Taiwo 2
Shorey 2
Olsson 2
Robinson 2
Bosingwa 2
Baines 2
Enrique 2

Ivanovic is playing there because their first choice is injured, so his abilities there aren't really relevant.
