Tubey, do you get him on your FM game too? Little disappointed in his stats... they've defo got that one wrong!!

This has to happen.

No, because he's terrible on FM xD Pace 10 Acceleration 12 or something?

Stupid. But then again he has only just come on the scene. Alex Chamberlain is the same, proper gash on FM but linked with a £10m move to Arsenal now.

This Jennings kid really is a no brainer; he's two footed as well. For around £1m, even if he did flop we'd recoup the money on him.

Exactamundo, mon ami

And yeah, I bought that Chamberlain chap, he was also poor though =(

If we can get Jennings for less than a million, whilst Arsenal are having to bid 10m for Chamberlain, that's a great deal for us

He is out of our price range mind you we could borrow of our wealthy neighbours tranmere

I dunno you know, if you watch that first goal, I can't see much the defence could have done differently - just too direct, ball glued to his feet, too much pace, into the area, defence can't touch him, smart finish. He'd terrorise any defence with those skills in the locker. We've seen what Coleman has done on the right with similar attributes (another player people moaned about when we bought a no-mark from Ireland...), and I'd honestly rather have this kid in than SWP or some other journeyman wide player. At the end of the day, he's went from the half way line to the shot in around 5 seconds - Everton do not have that sort of explosiveness, especially on the counter. He'd be perfect for us. Got to remember the impact Owen made at age 17/18 with exactly the same toolset this Jennings kid has.
Dont get me wrong, I think he looks good. But I think we should only buy him if moyes is going to put him in the first team squad, so he is in with a shout of actually playing this season. If not I dont want us to sign him, I would rather Moyes brings in someone who he will actually play, not one who he thinks is "one for the future" (like another Maguye Gueye or Joao Silva)

Thing is though, just because he's young, doesn't mean he is one for the future, if your good enough, your old enough. He looks top class, we don't have enough players with pace and an eye for goal, granted he looks a bit selfish but if he scores goals like that then who cares? If DM doesn't sign him he'd be a damn fool. We have enough (£3mil from Pienaar) to sign this kid, he'd be such a fool if he doesn't. Assuming of course, we're actually interested?

That's why this kid has me excited. That sounds wrong but you know what I mean!

We have a lot of technically gifted players but we don't have that element of explosiveness and unpredictablility.

I don't think this lad will start if we went for him, but we've sorely lacked that impact player off the bench. It's a gamble, but given we're unlikely to go down and unlikely to push for Europe, now is the time to gamble on someone fresh and exciting.

If nothing else, a rampaging run and his raw enthusiasm will lift Goodison Park no end.

Imagine how many points could be won in games if Gueye and Jennings came on with 15 minutes to go, tired defences would be terrorised. Exciting prospect indeed. That hideous number of draws this season could be halved (of course its speculation but hey, its logical).

I'm sure Gueye looked as good when we was scouting him in the 2nd tier of French football last season, pacey and direct and he scored goals, 9 i think it was and look at him, he cant even get off the bench in the premier league!.

Dont get me wrong, im with you guys and think Jennings looks good and could become a star and is exactly the type of player i'd like to see at Everton, someone with pace who isnt affraid to run at defences and come inside and have a pop at goal but does Moyes like to see players like that in his teams, im not sure he does, he holds back in giving youngsters like that a chance IMO cos if i was Everton manager then Gueye would of been given minutes in a lot of games this season!.

Its a big ask to step up in the leagues and still produce the kind of performances your giving right now but players like Jennings are worth taking a punt on for that kind of cash, look at Jarvis at Wolves, they picked him up from Gillingham who was in either league 1 or 2 years ago and look at him, he got selected in a couple of Capello's preliminary(sp) squads (in the 30+ man squad, not the main one) and as been linked to the likes of us, the sheit for prices like 3,6 and 8 million and he is a very good player and some wouldnt say no to him neither would they.

For me, Jennings would definitely be worth signing now cos if he's not ready just yet, he well might be next season, along with the likes of Gueye and they could add something different to our team, a fresh imputus and much needed pace which we lack.

I can understand peoples frustrations with us being linked or signing the likes of Jennings and Dier cos we all want us to sign players for now and to make an impact this season but we cant do that, thats the w@nk situation were in and we have to look at players and deals for the likes of Jennings who are cheap and we can possibly nuture in to good players.

If this kid was in our academy/reserve team, Evertonians would be calling him the "next Rooney". FFS the kid has ability oozing out of him. If we can get him, it's a coup. The Coleman comparison is apt. How many would have said he was "ready" prior to last year. The lad just needed a little time and the opportunity to play. Well, last time I checked we have a gaping hole on the left. No reason to think he couldn't slot in within the next year or so.

These are the kinds of deals we HAVE to do to compete. I look at a team in Spain like Sevilla who are masters at scouting and bringing in young or underrated players and then turning them into stars. Name the last big money signing Sevilla have had? Yet they are consistently in the CL and Europe and play an entertaining brand of football? Why? They have a great academy and a great scouting network. We can do the same.

Another Cahill/Pienaar/Coleman/Jagielka - bought cheaply and soared in value (OK, Pienaar went cheap but only due to the time left on his contract)

Spot on.

Sign this kid Jennings up.

Another thing i'd like to add, and again, i'm not anti Jennings, but if he was that good, how did he end up at Tranmere and not in a Prem League academy?
