Nah,We'll be gazumped by Milton Keynes Dons for £143.17p. or failing that, Moyes will get him and put him in the cupboard along with all the other good china that he only gets out for special occasions or for when the in-laws come round :(

Another Jason Koumas i reckon?

Ahhhh Koumas, the one that got away.

This is the type of comment I'd expect from idiots, rather than someone sensible like you usually are.

I assume George Best, Dixie Dean, Lionel Messi, Paul Scholes, Ronaldo, Diego Maradona etc. etc. are born brilliant and were destined to succeed and everyone could tell by the age of six?

The pessimism has gone way, way over the top on here recently. We're linked with a top emerging talent and Evertonians, for some reason, have to complain about it.

Oh, by the way, guess who the last outfield attacking player we signed from Tranmere Rovers happened to be?

Sorry mate, it's nothing against you, but the ridiculous pessimism is really starting to annoy me.

We bring in Eric Dier, rated around Europe as a top emerging prospect, and people moan about it. We're linked with Jennings, one of the two brightest stars in the lower leagues along with Chamberlain, and people moan about it.

I just don't understand the negativity, I really don't.

Fair enough mate.

I was simply making a joke, albeit a poor one, to the fact we we're after Koumas for so long, and everyone raved about him, then he turned out to be average, with him being the last Tranmere player we were linked with, i think it has reference. I think if you look back, i never said i didn't rate Jennings, nor did i show any pessimism, think you went a bit OTT there mate.

People are pi$$ed off at the minute mate. It is hard not to be frustrated, i'm a half full type of person, i wanna be positive but it is hard, so i understand the pessimism at the minute. Just roll with it for now mate, and be happy that your an Evertonian

Aye I just took it as an insinuation - e.g. "oh look, Everton in for another nobody". If that weren't the intention fair enough, but there's been a fair bit of it around.

I get the fact people want the Dzekos and Hazards of this world come in. But as that ain't happening perhaps we should be applauding smart little buys like this instead of pre-judging the lads coming in.

I'd rather have Jennings than crap like Ricardo Fuller, for example.

Another one for the future....

Great.

Waste of time, if he's any good. Kenwrong will sell him..

That's the thing people are exactly frustrated with though mate, why should we have to settle for smart little buys? Why can't a club like Everton compete with signing these players, and why should us as fans have to settle for signing players from League 1?

I think Jennings looks an excellent prospect, and would applaud his signing, but i'm not happy with this being considered a main signing. We should be able to sign some of the great players in Europe, not have to settle for signing prospects

It's all about embracing reality isn't it? We don't have a decent chairman, we have no money, so what we should do is applaud the purchases we make that seem relatively good.

Ricardo Fuller, Milan Jovanovic and stupid names like that, fair enough, slate the rumour as they aren't good enough for Everton even with our financial problems. But mindlessly slating every single player we're linked with just because they aren't a household name is stupid, deluded and ridiculous.

I for one would be delighted with Dale Jennings. Every single time we buy a player it's the same - the exact same nonsense greeted the arrival of Tim Cahill ("lower leagues he's alright but he won't cut it here!"), Mikel Arteta ("terrible, looked a tidy player in Scotland but who doesn't?"), Steven Pienaar ("too small, couldn't cut it in Germany, will never make it"), Kevin Campbell ("We're bringing in a hasbeen from Turkey? Going down, going down..."), Tim Howard ("Oh great, a flop 'keeper from the mancs"), Sylvain Distin ("THIS is our replacement for the great Lescott? Too old and crap") etc. etc. etc. etc.

People arn't slating Jennings himself mate, i think people all agree that he is an excellent prospect, but that is all he is, a prospect. Wouldn't it be great to sign 3 players that we really need of true quality and then add Jennings to that, to build on his ability and enhance his reputation as a prospect? That is what people are frustrated about mate, not Jennings himself, but the fact we can't go out and spend the money that the likes of Stoke & Birmingham are

For every good signing like you have mentioned above, there is a bad one mate, Beattie, McFadden, Davies, Kroldrup, Linderoth, i could go on. The game is about opinions, yes we should give players more of a chance, but in the wake or particularly the Distin transfer, we sold one of our better players from the past few seasons and replaced him with an older player, people naturally would see that as perhaps being a backwards step, but to his credit, Distin has been exceptional and given us a great away chant for the Barbara Streisand song

To sum up though, I, like many others i'm sure would welcome Jennings

Not at all.

Wayne Rooney came in and was a powerhouse at 17. Or an even more apt comparison, Michael Owen, who is very like this kid.

He'd be an instant impact player off the bench. Pure pace, enthusiasm and subtlety.

Anyone who'd be disappointed at this kid signing, especially for under a million if this is true, is an absolute lunatic.

I'd love to see him at the club and I'm a bona fide lunatic, so that blows your theory out of the water! :P

Very much this

I would be thrilled if this happened.

And yesterday:

I'm going to keep harping on about this kid til he's a Blue or he's gone somewhere else, because the lad is a genuine wonderkid.

My god, has that first clip played at double speed or something? it looks like he is running at 60mph!!

Clearly he has some ability. But it takes more than raw talent to succeed at Premier League level

I dunno you know, if you watch that first goal, I can't see much the defence could have done differently - just too direct, ball glued to his feet, too much pace, into the area, defence can't touch him, smart finish.

He'd terrorise any defence with those skills in the locker. We've seen what Coleman has done on the right with similar attributes (another player people moaned about when we bought a no-mark from Ireland...), and I'd honestly rather have this kid in than SWP or some other journeyman wide player.

At the end of the day, he's went from the half way line to the shot in around 5 seconds - Everton do not have that sort of explosiveness, especially on the counter. He'd be perfect for us.

Got to remember the impact Owen made at age 17/18 with exactly the same toolset this Jennings kid has.
