Maybe you can hire a new mod, a Current Affairs veteran that can only mod in there. Someone safe.
The Covid thread really got to you, eh Mike.Every time I went in there, which was rare, I was reminded of why I binned Twitter off 4 years ago.

Nah, it was more of a great source of info and conversation around very important topics. A few odd balls and multi's aside.Genuinely awful, miserable, negative and dark place.
And that was one of the more wholesome CA threads.

For me personally it is the main reason I post here, i found the CA a really valuable resource that kept me up to date on crucial important matters occurring across the globe. Great posters like legs, orchard and many more have shared info that I've used and shared beyond the forum. It's been closed for 3+ weeks now.
It had been a credit to the community here for 5/6 years but unfortunately, it needed a pause to take the sting out of the ugly direction in which it was going.
... but now it's been closed for a short period, has GOT been better without it? Should we keep it closed? or do you think we should bring it back?

This is the thing. It’s so easy to put people on ignore. People need to police it themselves by using the function and stop being bad bells and crying. For me personally it is the main reason I post here, i found the CA a really valuable resource that kept me up to date on crucial important matters occurring across the globe. I have no problem throwing what I believe to be ignorant toxic posters on ignore, which makes the CA a far better experience for me and hopefully creates less of an issue for the mods.
I sincerely hope it makes a return.
