Genuinely just interested considering your distrust of anything mainstream, which does kind of contradict itself when you put up Oliver Stone as an independent journalist.

I wouldn't bother.

You try and have a sensible conversation with him and he posts waffle. Then he'll moan that he's not getting sensible debate, then he'll insult you, you'll ask him to evidence his assertion and he'll say "don't be lazy" or "I can't be expected to do it for you", then people will rightly call him out on it and then he'll play the victim.

It's a pretty consistent cycle.

Who claimed he was shunned from TV as a result of his views on climate change, mainly because his position as a voice of authority on environment was at odds with scientific consensus, using incorrect information and directly opposed to the position of the organisations he was a figurehead for?

Oliver Stone is a polemicist, not a journalist. He's also one of the worst/most disingenuous historians of all time.

You can have a consensus, even if something changes - the consensus changes to match the evidence. The scientific community uses evidence and data to determine its decisions, as more becomes available, the position shifts. It might evolve (hope that's not a controversial topic) but largely as learning becomes available, the position moves - as it has with climate change. That is what happened with Attenborough.

Stubbornly ignoring it in a field where it is the overwhelmingly prevailing opinion will always make you an outlier.

Bellamy was dropped from the BBC after going full climate change sceptic. Dunno why OB keeps bringing it up mind. The BBC is notoriously beige and couldn’t be hooped with the amount of complaints and controversy he’d draw in. Worth also noting Bellamy is a botanist. lol lol

What if the scientists are right (which is highly likely) but we listen to wombles like you and continue to speed, headfirst into the abyss? I mean,it is quite a risk to take if we are honest. Unless you actually believe that it is fine to continue releasing carbon at the rate we do and continue burning fossil fuels that is. Do you think it is OK to continue as there is no scientific proof that they are causing issues? Shall we continue deorestation of the worlds rainforests also?
Who cares about the melting polar ice caps also, right?
