Really?
I thought universal credit was a massive flop. complicated and miserly?! Tax credits allowed me to work and get extra to so my wife cold stop work and study. I am not sure UC allows all that. We also had Labours nursery vouchers giving free childcare which allowed me time to work. That was also scrapped by you know who.

A lot of Universal Credit is terrible but for folk on variable income it (generally) works much better and allows less people to get into debt. Worked with folk who owed thousands as they didn’t keep HMRC and the council regularly updated with their wages or circumstances.
They worked for many people who require flexible employment with kids and were pretty organised but you could argue that they also allow businesses to pay and treat people badly on zero hour contracts and the state has to prop them up. (Which UC still does)
Childcare is a different matter mind.

Hahaha, what a great hoax that was pulled on these so-called intellectual uber-skeptics of the "Dark Web"

The short of it is here:


In this video, there are clips of Sam Harris and especially Eric Weinstein claiming they were contacted by US Naval officials, CIA, NSA, etc., to help communicate the existence of UFOs to the world.



Just think about this for a moment: How big does your ego have to be, that you would honestly believe (as a self-proclaimed critical thinker/skeptic) the US government would reach out to you over email to say that they want you (some quasi-academic/youtuber with a large twitter following) to be the spokesperson for the US government on a major world issue?

Wouldn't you think the US government would reach out to the United Nations, or perhaps a confederation of journalists from NYT, Washington Post, Le Monde, etc. etc.?? But certainly not just two dudes who share the personality traits of massive hubris and internet notoriety.

I posted a video of the full conversation mentioned here by Linehan in the American shootings thread. He’s purposefully responded to a small clip from it to suggest Jon Stewart is a groomer. If he actually cared he would realise that this wasn’t even vaguely the point Stewart was making. Linehan is such an awful person

Its a wonderfully skilled interview and Stewart times and lands his blows brilliantly, but the most astonishing thing about the bigot linehans takes is that the drag angle is so inconsequential to the conversation as you say. He used the registration of voting as another analogy to make his point that rights require regulation. linehans is utterly deranged and this bizarre obsession has destroyed him
