Brand made more sense when he was on smack.
Yet another one down the rabbit hole.
Start with vaccine scepticism, climate change denial, great reset or transphobia and the rest will drag you in along the way.
Also Chris Barrie (Rimmer from Red Dwarf) has jumped head first down the ‘Great Reset’ rabbit hole as well.

The most ironic thing is, if they wanted to speak about real life “mass enslavement” and didn’t want to just be nasty little bigots, they’d be pointing their fingers at wage slavery and the fact the vast majority of people under free market capitalism live paycheque to paycheque.
Instead they’ve decided that being asked not to be outwardly cruel to POC, women, and LGBT people is “mass brainwashing by the woke elite”.

The slightest bit of public health advice is perceived as tyranny now. If I was a public health official, I'd secretly start my own subversive line of anti-vax YouTube videos that advise people to chug entire bottles of industrial strength bleach to combat the pandemic, weed out the crazies that way

This is where I have issue with most conspiracy theories. They deflect from actual and real world events. Plenty of ‘conspiracies’ going on it’s just they’re not as exciting as a blood drinking Bill fkin Gates planting micro chips in people.
Think many of the elite parts of society are perfectly happy with mad conspiracies as they can continue to pay people [Poor language removed] and piss all over the environment.
I said something similar in the conspiracies thread before holliday ruined it for everyone.
Most real conspiracies tend to involve corruption, paying off officials, offshore bank accounts and the like. Not very rock n roll all in all.
Much more entertaining to accuse public officials of being NWO satanists than digging through their tax receipts and donation sources for irregularities.

And rightly so. He was spreading lies.
Pretty much, the way they ignore the blatant real world problems (that they witness with their own two eyes daily, and are probably victims of) in favour of outlandish conspiracies is quite sad.
Boggles my mind that they get more freaked out by being asked to wear a mask for a few months in shops and on public transport, but don’t get freaked out the abnormally large amount of natural disasters which are being caused by global warming, or the exponentially widening wealth gap.
If they want a real conspiracy, when Brown left government about 25k people were actively using food banks in the UK, we now have over 2,500,000 people relying on food banks which will only grow with spiralling inflation. Meanwhile British Gas are breaking into homes and installing prepaid meters while posting record profits, the government are removing the banking regulations put in place after 2008’s crisis, and the oil companies are also posting record profits while callously destroying the planet.
If being asked not to use slurs and having to put a mask on for about 20 minutes a day is worse than all that to them, then humanity is absolutely screwed
Another mess created by the GC crowd.
I’ve been following this mess for a while as I do use a few of Spitfire’s products in my own music and do like a lot of owner Christian Hensons content, just sad to see things turn out this way.
For those not up to date or not wanting to jump into a long YT vid:
Spitfire audio is a company that creates multi-sampled virtual instruments, specialising in orchestras for use in film/tv scores as well as other types of music. In fact they are one of the best around with people like Hans Zimmer and Tom Holkenberg amongst their fan base.
Spitfire is owned by a guy called Christian Henson (a renowned tv composer in his own right) along with sister company LABS (which creates free virtual instruments) and Pianobook which is a sampling community.
He also runs a very successful YouTube account where he discusses all things related to musical score creation/sampling and promo for Spitfire and their various sub projects. He came across as a fairly decent person and I as a musician enjoyed a lot of their content
Then last year he posted a tweet:
As you can imagine, the metaphorical hit the fan and he ended up stepping back from his role at Spitfire.
Anyway he came back recently without any word and people are not happy.
It turns out that the GC crowd had jumped onto this and to his defence. Even their discord channel was invaded by Linnehan and his brain dead followers resulting in one of their mods (who is trans) being abused and quitting the community.
A fair few of their staff have left and a number of well known collaborators have pulled their products or cancelled future work with Spitfire and it’s sister companies as a result.
Red Means Recording put out this vid (it is worth a watch despite the length as it explains matters better than I could) and now Henson, rather than just apologising and acknowledging all the crap this has caused has simply decided to step back permanently.
I took a look at some of their social posts today and most of the replies are from various non musician, GC goons threatening to ‘never buy a Spitfire product again’ despite the fact they would have no need to buy anything anyway.
Jeremy (Red Means Recording) has since had to lock his Twitter account due to the GC pile on as a result of his video.
