Thought it was interesting given how much test cricket is played these days, but then again, players do seem to lack the concentration these days to play the innings required.

I see Jennings averages about 33 in all first class cricket. Is it really a surprise that he hasn't exactly thrived in test matches?

....David Lloyd saying he couldn’t resist backing him for England’s top 1st innings scorer. I suppose 9-1 for a ton is reasonable given the occasion and you have two chances to win, although I wouldn’t be tempted.

A very good effort from the openers, with both players looking largely untroubled. An unfortunate and dreadful lapse in concentration from Jennings, turning a ball around the corner intentionally right off the face of the bat caused the one hiccup, rather similar to Root's dismissal at Edgbaston.
You have to know where the close fielders are at all times, and he apparently must have just forgotten about the leg slip.
It's a small lapse in concentration but so costly and he'll be kicking himself as he may have missed out on the perfect opportunity for a really big score
I feel like like this is a great toss to win (well done Joe, great captaincy winning 5 put of 5 lol), there's a big score out there for the team and any batsman on this wicket.
