bowlers wicket down at the oval?
This round of matches are using the Kookabura ball, could be that, although the scores are mixed. Eight Lancashire players made double figures, only one fifty. Could be that you're never in, or, just careless shots.

Supposed to make taking wickets harder.

So like any typical yank, I'm not familiar with this sport much at all. I know the basic rules but that's about it. Well it just so happens that I know have a local team that'll be playing in the only cricket-specific stadium in the US, so I'll be catching a few games cause I'm interested to learn more about it. Anyone know who any of these guys are?

Some very good players there. No team will have better openers for a start with Faf de plessis probably the best on the world right now.
Some rules in cricket can seem a bit complicated at first, but the basics are pretty simple and can be extremely entertaining to watch. Can see this being popular in the states if a good marketing team get involved.

Typical Lancashire letting teams off the hook. Had Surrey nine down and looking at a first innings lead, instead they put on 130 for their last wicket and they have a decent first innings lead instead.

Hmm, I know its for the bigger picture of the ashes down under. But is two gameweeks using the Kookabura going to make much difference? Like you said the scores have been differing so all dependant on the wicket and not solely on the ball. Just feels like a bit of a pointless exercise imo

Totally agree. Surrey have countered it by leaving more grass on the pitch than usual.

So they’re continuing with Bairstow as keeper, and bringing in Josh Tongue as Moheen’s replacement!

Relying on Joe Root for a bit of bowling variation 🤔!

I suspect the Aussies won’t mind either selection!
