We were looking at a good chance of victory when we had them 70-7, but a good partnership saw them get well back into the game. Much tougher chase than it could have been. Don't know what the weather forecast is, but this won't be another draw...
The forecast for the morning is cloudy and cool - expected temp at 11:00 is 18C. I live between Rugby and Northampton and will be heading over there in the morning with fingers and other extremities crossed.

Jones & Sundar will be the key I think. If Bohannon can stick around there's a chance of victory. But I'd say it's favouring Northants at the moment.. That partnership after lunch tipped the balance.
Let's hope Lancs get a few umpiring decisions in their favour - definitely gone against them so far with a couple in the 1st innings and Jennings and Wells in the 2nd, plus Rickleton surviving a Luke Wood appeal that looked very close early in his innings.

Fine innings by Bohannon but have to say that was an excellent spell of bowling late in the day by Sanderson, dropping his pace and cutting the ball and making short work of the well set Croft and then Vilas. I was knackered just watching it so I don't know how they kept going!

Trying out for the under 16’s school side I bowled one down in the nets and turned to walk away, and and a ball from the next one over went smashing through a hole and hit me right in the shoulder. I just shrugged and I always remember the other kids gasped and I laughed, turned and bowled another one down. Truth is it must have hit me somewhere where it just didnt hurt.. but man I felt ten feet tall that day.

Didnt make the team but no biggie I couldn’t afford the kit.

Great win after Bohannon gave it away early - still a fine innings. Williams looked rock solid defensively and Sundar was cautious but controlled.

Bad news is that Surrey won again. Hampshire being held up by a Glos fightback - still favourites but could be held to a draw.

Lancs 31pts behind Surrey.

Next week - Yorks v Hants, Surrey v Warwick, Lancs v Kent - Kent have thrashed Warwick today.

Not sure if it’s because of the streams being more available but the level of umpiring seems pretty poor atm in the pro game. Especially compared to the international umpires who seem to have got better and better.

Also got to be said the umpiring in the sunday cup games I’ve seen in the comp and beyond has been excellent this summer.

Got to win every game before they play Surrey at Old Trafford to finish the season you’d imagine.

It would be nice if they could, that game will probably be televised too if previous years are anything to go by.

I suspect it is the streams which make it more apparent, but even then it's often hard to tell, apart from absolute shockers like the Bohannon one in the 1st innings. Basically, the players just have to hope that it evens up over a season.

Yes I'd agree, Lancs will have to win all their games to have a chance. Hampshire won again to go 2nd, 14pts behind Surrey.

Remaining games - last 3 rounds in September.
Lancs - Kent H, Yorks H, Essex A, Surrey H
Surrey - Warw h, Northants A, Yorks H, Lancs A
Hants - Yorks A, Northants H, Kent H, Warw A

Got to say Surrey look very impressive and it's hard to see them slipping up. That win at Scarborough and Jacks' innings in this round against an excellent Essex attack - the best I've seen this season apart from Test Matches - are the sort of things that win championships.

A very enjoyable morning spent watching Lancs beat Northants. It was very comfortable in the end, with Williams and Sundar batting sensibly and only really giving one significant chance between them.
