Washington Sundar picks up a wicket in his 1st over!

Good balance to the Lancs attack this match - 3 seamers , 2 spinners ( harsh on Morley getting dropped after last week ) and Wells as an occasional spinner.

Parky and Sundar are going to get a lot of work in this heat.

Tom Hartley took 6-60 off 26 overs against Essex 2ndXI. He's followed it up with an unbeaten 115, rescuing Lancs from 62-5.

Too good to be pigeonholed as a white ball player only.

Lancs in trouble - 77-5, Bohannon last out lbw for 31, a shocking decision.

Make that 6, Washington out lbw as well.

They're making journeyman Jack White , a journeyman ex-Cheshire and Cumbria seamer, look like Glenn McGrath - 13-6-14-5.

With Lancs off for bad light I've been watching the Surrey/Essex game where a phenomenal innings by Will Jacks, 150no, has given Surrey an unlikely 48 run lead on 1st innings after being 112-7.

England could do worse.

Lancs need 278 to win and keep their championship hopes alive.

Not a good start - Jennings lbw to Sanderson for 1, latest 19-1.
We were looking at a good chance of victory when we had them 70-7, but a good partnership saw them get well back into the game. Much tougher chase than it could have been. Don't know what the weather forecast is, but this won't be another draw...

Still playing!

Lancs just lost two quick wickets with one of them Parkinson, bizarrely sent out as nightwatchman with 5 overs to go.

Currently 191-5 , Bohannon batting beautifully on 92no

4 overs left tonight.
