Cricket

There's actually a bit of method to the madness of the aggressive 4th innings chases. A lot of teams get close but the second new ball makes the difference. Teams are going to have to set over 300 for the second new ball to be a factor. Anything under 4 an over will be chased or lost inside 80 overs.
When the wheels come off it'll implode in record ways though.
And it's a lot easier playing roulette cricket when you aren't facing Warne and McGrath. (RIP Shane you king of the gangster athletes)

Other teams will look at this and probs shake their heads. It's just immense batting.
The test though is can they do it abroad.
Reckon we are going to see lots of 400s and the occasional 100 thrown in.

Exactly. The game is changing. Australia to a large extent moved Test cricket on. England/McCullum/Stokes are moving it on more.

On the cards, Buttler will be the favourite to take over I presume ; won't be playing for Lancashire again, not that he has so far this season.

I would assume Buttler gets it yeah. Seems the obvious choice and I imagine Stokes won't want it.

He might get a few games for Lancs in September once the hundred ends. Or he would get to play at finals day if they make it.

Weirdly, I heard Sangakarra yesterday on commentary saying he should replace Crawley and open the batting. I don't really think it would work, but it would definitely be interesting to see. I reckon Mccullum will want to find a place for him somewhere in the test side.
