Still think they'll win.

Will be extremely close. England usually collapse in these circumstances but usually have a bit more of a longer target to get to.

It's embarrassing for Pakistan that the series is already lost. Didn't even bother watching first one as thought no point, but they've been dreadful.

County Pros 3 Pakistan 0.

Pakistan ragged in the field but fantastic effort from England

The enigmatic Vince showed his class, Gregory produced his Somerset form. The psychology is fascinating - in this team they are two of the more experienced players in a team of equals, whereas previously they've been bit parts surrounded by superstars.

Another massive win for the cobbled together XI. At least Pakistan made a game of it but hard not to on this wicket, really they've been a disgrace and awful is too kind a description.

Vince and Carse the main men, Vince has taken 50 internationals to finally achieve the big score. Stokes deserves credit for subbing in as captain for a series he was set to miss through injury (proper recovery time)

Pakistan, I could set fields for you if you want ?
Could easily sort you out as long as your bowlers don’t bowl them jarg long hop slower balls onto leg stump ?

Explanation on the Roses match abandonment today.

While I'd agree that the players' welfare has to take priority, I find it a bit strange that the ground suddenly became unfit after a player slipped over outside the playing area. Just wait until the Hundred starts - they'll be playing in a downpour if necessary!

Hopefully, Lancs bat on tomorrow - Wells and Bohannon get their centuries and only declare when Yorkshire don't have enough time to get any bonus points!

I thought Dickie Bird retired from umpiring decades ago. Reminiscent of both umpire's (Dickie and David Constant I think) walking off the pitch in baking hot weather for a slightly damp outfield following an inspection in a test match all those years ago. Infamous incident which blighted his reputation - the cacophony of abuse and booing from the stands was deafening)

I know this game was at Leeds rather than Manchester, but the Manchester microclimate of rain and more rain is infamous and known worldwide, it's so wet so often.

It's no coincidence Lancs last won the title when virtually all their home games were played at outgrounds, primarily Aigburth. We probably didn't have anything like our strongest team in recent decades however we weren't playing in Manchester rain, that difference was crucial.

As Man Utd centre half Nemanja Vidic famously said (paraphrasing) the best part about Manchester is the railway station were everyone gets ready to leave. It rains all the time.

Somerset, Hampshire, Notts, Warwick, Lancs and Yorks qualify for Division one in September. Despite winning their group Notts lost twice to Warwickshire so are well below them in the table!

By my reckoning the position is:

1. Warwick 21 pts
2. Somerset 18.5 pts
3. Lancs 16.5 pts
4. Hants 8.5 pts
5. Notts 5 pts
6. Yorks 4.5 pts
