Cricket

Who did you play test cricket for?

Knowlsey - District Cricket and then a few clubs around the place - Huyton and then Whitefield before like two games for another whose name I forget.

We all had trials for Lancs whilst playing for Knowlsey but I wasn't good enough anyway.

Broke me arm playing Footy one summer and lost what I had in terms of bowling pace.

That's not test cricket! Ha
Yeah my career ended because my eyesight became too poor, bit annoying, I should really pick it up again since I had lazy eye surgery.

Yeah me and my brother used to do that on the back garden too.

We'd play starting Friday morning, as long as weather permitted and then come back Saturday to finish.

It's not five-days at Lords, granted, but knocking forty against some wools from St Helens was better than anything Everton have ever done for me.

I would have loved that, I was a miserly bowler not built for this twenty20 malarkey.

Bangladesh bowled out for 43 today in the first Test in the West Indies. Roach 5-1-8-5. I fear for Scotland in the next few years if Bangladesh, after 18 years of continuous struggle, still seem as far away as ever to being a truly competitive test match side.

Lancashire playing their first T20 match under the ridiculous name of The Vitality Blast. Anyway, playing Worcestershire at Old Trafford, Lancashire 49-0, 5.3 overs.

And Australia have lost again, against Pakistan in a T20 match.

I'd forgotten they were playing, but, England beat India in the latest T20 match. Won by 5 wickets with 2 balls to spare, Hales, batting at 4, made 58.
Lancashire strolling to victory against Derbyshire.
Derbyshire 161-4, Lancashire 159-0, Livingstone 99 of 48 balls, 9 4s, 7 sixes.

England need to learn to continue scoring at a rate in t20, they're not quite there yet. They either have a great start and sort of stumble or the reverse.

Given their line up they should be battering some scores.
