That's why Buttler is opening and that's why Root's not in the team!

All good shouts in here for who should be in the team going forward but I can only see T Curran being replaced with a spinner what with the world cup being in India. Moeen would have to be favourite for that spot.

De Kock always looks like he’s going to start crying when things aren’t going their way. Doesn’t communicate with the bowlers during the game. Absolutely useless in the after match interview. He has to learn what being a captain involves very quickly or step aside.
Maybe stick to batting at which he excels.

England had already expressed doubts about the integrity of the biosphere bubble protocols imposed by the RSA authorities on this tour. Worryingly this is the third RSA player to test positive in a relatively short time and picked up when the players were supposedly in a safe, secure biosphere bubble.

The South African quarters may well be pretty similar to the Newcastle training ground atm, it would seem they're far from safe. Most (all three) of those testing positive are or were asymptomatic and as such would have had plenty of opportunity to pass it on. (Apparently the two previous cases pulled out as they were contacts of David Miller who had tested positive)

Both teams will be tested of course, but there are still doubts as to just how safe it really is. England say they'll cancel if there's another positive test but is it really worth it? Any outbreak at the hotel and the England team will not be able to come straight home without imposed quarantine, just before Christmas this is a nightmare not of their own making. Any England players that prefer not to take the risk and play will be allowed to return home without it counting against them.

Coming home and cancelling looking the most likely outcome.

I dunno. Seems the quicks can often go for big runs at times depending on the conditions
Agree. Watching the IPL, slow bowlers seem to get into batsmen’s heads more, where they feel they have to force the pace and consequently, they make errors. With quick bowling you can just ‘divert’ the ball with very little effort.

Shock news as Australians have a hissy fit.

This doesn't sit right with me at all tbh as the reporter says Jadeja with plenty to his name had done a crucial job with the bat and suffered a hammy, no physio at end of innings so when hit in the helmet replace him at change of innings with a gun bowler in Chahal.

So man of the match is the controversial substitute for a subsequent concussion change -

it's just blatantly using the rules by the letter of the law - subs allowed for concussion so they take advantage and replace injured bowler with a clearly suspect hamstring.

Yes it's Australia but I wouldn't be happy either tbh - letter of the law being used to the full

I think this explains it pretty well.
