They are a poor team chasing. I get it in 20 over cricket, but in 50 overs its completely daft. He has a batting line up who can put 400 on the board, so why on earth would you want to bowl first

Dunno, ah well, at least we won the world cup, this game means nothing when we spanked them in the world cup semi when it actually mattered.

Lancs finish on 167-5. Questionable if it will be enough on what is usually a high scoring ground - will probably come down to how their battery of spinners - Parkinson, Livingstone, Hartley and Croft - bowl against a powerful batting line-up.

Lancs made a flying start through Davies and Livingstone,41-0 after 4 overs with Livingstone looking surprisingly good considering he's spent the last few weeks working on his golf swing with England, before he holed out after a wild swing at Patel's second ball. Four players got into the 30s but not beyond and in the end they were indebted to Danny Lamb unveiling the ramp shot he used to great effect on Tuesday to boost the score in the final over.
