Cricket

As Darren Gough said - three batsmen involved, but nobody else ?

I really struggle to understand how a quick bowler, or any bowler for that matter, doesn't notice that the ball they're bowling has been intentionally roughed up on one side. And if you've bowled enough over the years, I'm sure you can differentiate between normal cricket ball gradual wear and tear and a cricket ball that has been roughed up by an artificial object.

Neil Wagner is an exception.
Played against him once when he played for Ormskirk in the Liverpool comp.
Top, top fella who's story about how he just wanted to play at the top level was so interesting to hear.

Absolute trooper is Wagner. Over the years have seen him so often bowl long spells (10 overs plus) in NZ, and he manages to put as much energy in at the end of his spell as he did at the start. Top fella, and the fact that he emigrated from South Africa, bided his time to play for New Zealand, really shows his desire to play at the top level.

They should have gotten even longer. Cricket Australia have clearly been trying to protect their golden boy Smith throughout this, even their gutless CEO refused to call him a cheat yesterday.

Pathetic.

12 month bans for Warner and Smith and 9 months for Bancroft apparently

Be interesting how warner takes it . Reports obviously that he’s been ostracised but also other accounts that he doesn’t feel he should shoulder the blame for others walking away from the allegations. Let’s face it he’s got it in his locker to respond in a number of ways , whatever happens it’s all a compelling watch .

I feel a bit sorry for Smith as he seems to be a decent feller, very unlike that arsehole Warner.

The penalties surprise me, though. I mean, Shane Warne got a year for taking a drug which wasn't performance enhancing, as far as I know.

This ball tampering thing wasn't a spur of the moment snap decision. It was planned and executed by at least three of them and almost
certainly more. There's no way Lehmann wasn't involved, imo.

I hope David Warner's life spirals out of control and never steps foot on any sort of Cricket pitch again.

As for Steve Smith, we'll see you next summer - on proper pitches where you can't bore us all to a century and then talk about how 'technically sound you are,' you utter coward.

Smith went out of his way to get rabada banned, milked the bairstow incident for all it is worth, and used Warner as his rabid dog, he's either culpable or a very weak leader

Hopefully the ipl follow what is admittedly a very fine stand from cricket Australia

I agree , with the obviously exception of the apparent Lehmann exoneration.

I think a bit of both but from reports more the latter than the former .
