We also played and defeated England 1-0 in a two-test series last year, so it would seem we don't just play the decent sides in two-test series. We do give the crap ones a go in two-test series too.

I left myself open to that, but I don't count two test series full stop whoever they're played against tbh

Theyre a huge blight on the modern game imo, I know the causes with packed fixture schedules and administrators wanting as much one day stuff as possible, preferably on postage stamp grounds, so they can attract crowds. NZ just can't attract any crowds to tests unless they're all away supporters

Two consecutive one-off tests will never constitute a series in my view and all should be treated as second class, tourists hardly get used to the conditions and its all over.

Tbh in England test matches are starting to attract healthier crowds than odI's, especially in London

..... I do agree that I prefer 3, 4 or 5 test series. For the obvious reason that at least then if a team goes 0-1 down in the first match of a series, they at least then have a chance to still win the series.

And yes, I do find it curious that we (NZ) played the higher-rated Sri Lankans in a two-test series at home earlier in the summer, then Bangladesh somehow get given three......
