Incredible innings from Gayle. Defo MOM.

The match winning innings from Buttler was deservedly m.o.m. to score 150 batting at number five only out in the very last over of only 77 balls

Compared to Gayle's fine knock of 162 in 97 balls (12 runs more but an extra 20 balls is slower), and then perhaps getting out clean bowled just as they were getting on top is still an extraordinary innings, extremely commendable but sadly for him, in vain in a losing total.

It could have been match winning if he hadn't perhaps tried one shot too many at precisely the wrong time but such are the small margins.

The match winning effort was nicely timed batting all the way until the very last over at a marginally quicker rate and should win it all day long for me.

There's an argument for Mark Wood with his 4-60 off 10 overs, and the first four wickets - so top batsmen but its a batsman's game and the West Indian adjudicator went with Buttler

Bangladesh opening bat scored 86 in first session. Got his 100 off 100 balls. But his team-mates were yardies. NZ will win the test easily

No idea why NZ are playing a three match home series against garbage like Bangladesh who away from their own country are fairly shoddy opposition

They usually limit the series against anyone any good to two tests hoping they'll win one and perhaps draw the other in a so called 'mini series', which are just two consecutive one off tests really, and then give note tests and a proper three match series when a gang of no hopers fly in.

- series like these help mediocre sides attain falsely elevated rankings

The cricket rankings are becoming laughable imo

Last ODI, Curran in for the injured Plunkett. West Indies won the toss and put England in on a bouncy pitch, England 58-3, 11.1 overs, Bairstow, Hales and Root out.

... Is this sour grapes because New Zealand are ranked second, and the Poms are ranked only fifth?

We also played and defeated England 1-0 in a two-test series last year, so it would seem we don't just play the decent sides in two-test series. We do give the crap ones a go in two-test series too.
