All I seem to see from the media isn't reporting but fear mongering. I guess that's the side of it I'm talking about , it's not just telling you the news .
You can see in a daily basis stories about it living on your phone for a week, you may already be around it , worst health crisis for decades , number of people who have it , the word quarantine over and over again etc . It's breeding fear about something that shouldn't be feared.
Even today, first death from Corona virus being reported as the headline. The patient was old and in and out of hospital with failing health so was weak to get the virus. But there are a number of illnesses that do that , my auntie in law for example was failing health recently but cause of death of pneumonia. That headline of first death will be running through cementing the idea that everyone will start dying now from the illness when that really isn't the case.
If the original story was bad flu outbreak in town in China , would anyone have cared? Would the media have ran with it for so long? Compared to brand new virus (that's 90% the same as the flu) has quarantined town and we could be next etc.
Plus this blanket reporting on such a large scale is creating racism within Western society which is clear now. Constantly hearing about China is fueling racist undertones that shouldn't exist.
This could have all been handled in a much better way and it wouldn't incite so much panic over nothing. All this is going to do is increase the amount of people who get sick and immediately cry Corona virus filling hospitals with all sorts of viruses because the media have told them to be fearful for their life.
