Are you a hypochondriac by any chance the recovery rate is 80 percent...
276 out of 3000 people have recovered completely in Italy. With over a 100 deaths.
50000 recovered out of 90000 globally.
I don't like these percentages so far. Where is the 80% figure coming from?

I’ll let @Joey66 clarify himself what he specifically meant but generally the 80% figures attached to the virus are the 80% quoted on page 12 of the WHO report on the China outbreak that are lab confirmed patients that have mild to moderate disease

The concerning numbers right now are the graph of cases outside China and the distribution. Once this thing gets loose somewhere, it does work, and it seems to be quite good at finding a toehold.

We have a bunch of brushfires, and putting those out is made harder when people like, say, Dartmouth employees are too arrogant to follow the rules. When those brushfires catch, we get wildfires like Italy, South Korea and Iran.

It seems certain from the numbers that there's at least one wildfire we can't fully see in the US, and the brushfires are spreading.

I've read they are effective. They don't give you total protection, but they do provide a lot of protection.

Edit: Yeah, an N-95 mask or FFP3 mask that meets EN149 standard, fitted properly, offers a lot of protection. I've just checked. Again, not complete, but unless you want to be a chad hazmat guy then you're going to have to accept that complete protection isn't easily achieved. That, or just stay in! lol

There’s a shortage of those and they need to be saved for healthcare, first responders and family caring for infected at home.

Generally wearing masks in health individuals isnt very preventative and may increase risks of infection if not used correctly.

Aseptic... Not easy. Funny how they have really concentrated on hand washing, tells me there are lots of people who going for a number 1 and 2 and not washing their hands afterwards, dirty blighters.
