The concerning numbers right now are the graph of cases outside China and the distribution. Once this thing gets loose somewhere, it does work, and it seems to be quite good at finding a toehold.
We have a bunch of brushfires, and putting those out is made harder when people like, say, Dartmouth employees are too arrogant to follow the rules. When those brushfires catch, we get wildfires like Italy, South Korea and Iran.
It seems certain from the numbers that there's at least one wildfire we can't fully see in the US, and the brushfires are spreading.
