A airports have medical facilities. We're not talking about operations here, it's checking for symptoms similar to the flu.
B How many people? We don't know how many people will need testing.
C That's for the authorities in other countries to answer
D There are have been 84 cases in the UK so far. At the moment it's all very small numbers. What I'm talking about if trying to avoid anything large scale. If you don't do the checks now then it might become large scale. No one wants that.

Any testing needs to be pre boarding and anyone exhibiting symptoms can’t travel.

Testing people who’ve already arrived is trying to tackle the issue from the wrong end.

The disease has an incubation period of up to 2 weeks anyway, and they’d not have any symptoms.

Airports don't have medical facilities required for what you are suggesting. Not do they have the staff capable of swabbing and assessment.

84 cases confirmed, but lots more swabbing and assessing.

It's not for authorities in other countries to answer if they have travelled to the UK. It's a UK problem or an airline problem.

I suppose we could do nothing and allow completely free travel. This virus only kills the weak so let's just see where survival of the fittest gets us. The human race needs a good culling anyway.

Completely agree but the authorities in the UK can't control what's being done in other countries. We need to be controlling travel both in and out of the UK. I'd like to think most other countries are doing the same.

Not sure where anyone has suggested doing nothing and as you said yourself, it's only 80 odd cases in the UK.

I've read they are effective. They don't give you total protection, but they do provide a lot of protection.

Edit: Yeah, an N-95 mask or FFP3 mask that meets EN149 standard, fitted properly, offers a lot of protection. I've just checked. Again, not complete, but unless you want to be a chad hazmat guy then you're going to have to accept that complete protection isn't easily achieved. That, or just stay in! lol

The guy on the left needs a beard. Men with beards seem to be holding firm that they don't want to wear them as they are not arsed cutting the beards or at least trimming them.
