Aye, that's what I thought. I'm sure I didn't imagine our full-to-breaking point hospitals, emergency tents and unprecedented surge in cases of death in the last 2 weeks
Some interesting stats among the opinion pieces though. I wonder if cities or countries that see their populace suffer more respiratory problems die to air pollution have been harder hit by covid 19

I believe they just took the step of closing off their borders to all foreigners. Something that in our countries, if you suggested merely only a few months ago. You would be labelled xenophobic, racist or stereotyping.

Less than twenty pages ago, folks were laughing at Germans always following orders. But nobody brought up stereotypes then. Because it's a convenient strategy to shut down a debate. Basically it's ok to laugh at Germans. Mendacity, hypocrisy.

Here's the thing, facts don't care about your feelings or your propensity to be offended.

Social justice warriors and folks who slandered people with genuine concerns. Looks like individuals, who believed in borders, that governments should protect their citizens first, are being vindicated. Hysterical labeling has caused massive damage.

In fact across the world, borders are being shut. About time. Labeling your political opponents, bigoted, racist, fascist etc...Turns out, it doesn't help democracy, In fact it hinders it and jeopardizes lives.

I look forward, when this is all over, to going back to reasoned debate were all opinions are listened to and respected.

Good luck saying that on here mate.

I might be missing something but the bias that seems to be on show with that is astonishing - it just seems to be some bloke going around trying to collect as much evidence for a preconceived view as humanly possible, ignoring anything to the contrary.

Because this is an extra virus that seems to attack the old and vulnerable... Which all need hospital treatment. I'd guess if you forgot seasonal flu existed and saw an outbreak then the scenes would look similar.

He is bang on with one point. The figures are deaths that have tested positive for it, not necessarily the cause of death.

I swear people have forgotten just how bad and a killer flu has always been for humans.

Am I the only one who gets a bit aggravated by footballers joining campaigns to raise money from the public ?

The latest one involving Andros Townsend. He’s joined a campaign trying to raise £100,000

Look in your own back pockets you morons. If every player in the Prem donated 10% of their weekly wage it would raise £2.5m per week ffs !

At least he was sensible enough to save money for a time like this. Scary how much of the population live beyond their means, putting everything on finance rather than save up and buy it, because they cant afford it there and then. Living paycheck to paycheck maxed out. Times like these show how flawed that is, i dont have a brand new car or all the latest gadgets but everything I own is mine and nobody is going to come looking for them if I can't pay.
There are literally people sitting on couches and they pay for them monthly, nor the fridge with all their food in it and the car needed to go to the shop to get the food

Yes mate, seen something the other day about PSG selling limited addition tops to raise I think about 300k for the hospitals. Why should the struggling joe public be asked to put their hands in the pocket when the likes of Neymar is probably on more than that a week.

Perfect coronavirus job for Brexit voters.

Do it for Britain!
Actually that's exactly what me and the missus are going to do provides we stay healthy. We've both lost the income from our part time jobs and won't qualify for any of the government handouts, but still need to pay the bills

They’d prefer the social media “likes” rather than dipping into their vast fortune, it appeals far more to their ego.
