It's making profit when it's unethical to do so.Nope.
Profiteering is taking advantage of people when they are desperate or suffering. We're not there yet. We're nowhere near there yet.

He's literally described what the profiteer is doing right now to use as a defence, he's like some kind of bizarro right wing crusaderIt's making profit when it's unethical to do so.
Ramping prices up in the event of a potential pandemic fits that description in my opinion.
not going to investigate murders.. so if you have anyone on your list, now is the time lolAs you'd expect from a cack handed Tory Government, they're making a complete bollox of this already. Regarding police deployment: telling the criminal class that they've basically got a free hand to do whatever they like is stupid beyond belief.

WTF kind of statement is that to hand to the public?
Because I work in health commissioning and I know the cost of clinical supplies, I know the supply chain routes and the lead times and the alternative suppliers and the cost before about 3 weeks ago, despite suppliers indicating no issue with supply, was significantly lower than it is now; to the extent that the department of health have begun to intervene regarding acceptable pricing. How do you know the retailers are making an unreasonable profit? How do you know it's the retailers ramping up the selling price?
There is a long chain involved, especially when goods are imported from the Far East. When costs go up, selling prices go up accordingly.
It's ignorant to just blame the final seller involved.
