That’s sad. We can only imagine the scenes they are witnessing in ICUs of recent.

Should be a sole reason people should stop being selfish and do the right thing as the doctors and nurses are pleading for us to do, stay home and avoid socialising in big groups. It’s really not hard. At least for those of us who are on furlough etc...

Well, if you're talking about gathering data, then testing would help, sure. Symptoms, like fever, cough andinability to breathe, are also good though.

My issue is with people, including a lot on here, complaining that they can't get tested. You know, for personal reasons. People aren't complaining that they can't get tested because they want their deaths to be recorded in the statistics... They seem to want to be tested because - well I don't think they know why they want to be tested. It's just testing good.

Testing is still important to track the disease and notify contacts to limit spread.
Fever, cough and shortness of breath can be many things - flu is still circulating which is why we test for it first.

Given the short supply of PPE, you don't want to "gown up" if it isn't needed.

It may also help folks better adhere to isolation if they know they definitely have it versus just might or probably have it.

Thats largely down to our crass media whipping up hysteria to line their own back pockets.

Add in idiot busybodies in the public determined to see us all barricaded in our homes this was always going to be inevitable.
