I've read that MOTs on commercial vehicles have been relaxed/suspended for now, and that a statement will be made on non-commercial vehicles soon (or words to that effect)
From BBC Website:-
Garages are allowed to remain open under the new restrictions. MOTs have been suspended for lorries, buses and trailers for up to three months, and MOT testing for cars, motorcycles and light vans is under review.
The Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) has also suspended driving and motorcycle tests in England, Scotland and Wales for up to three months from 21 March 2020, except for critical workers.
All practical driving tests are also currently suspended in Northern Ireland until 22 June 2020.
Ta for that.
I had one booked for today but garage didn't open.
I've taxed it though as it still had a valid MOT for a couple of weeks.

Indeed. There will be a massive financial reckoning when this is over, and the same people demanding the shutdown of everything will be the first to complain when the bill comes through.....

That is only if they solely go after everyone else to pay for this - which is going to be politically and financially impossible, especially as we are going to need bigger and more capable healthcare sectors, public health facilities etc after this. Fortunately, there is an alternative represented by the shade under $12 trillion currently held in offshored accounts and firms across the globe.

Time to stump a large percentage of that up, rich fellows.

I’m also sure that the heads of the big economies can work towards having a common policy of writing off debt. China may object, but then again.....

Gig economy workers still shafted by the 'boy wonder'. The self employed workers still shafted by the 'boy wonder'. So much for the government of the workers the MSM claim the Tories are supposed to be. Workers government my backside.

He did no such thing. His dementia-addled sociopathic brain gets up there and rambles on and he lies and he makes nonsense word salad every day while all his yes-men and Fox News act like nothing is wrong with him. Every time he opens his mouth the market tanks. CNN actually stopped airing his garbage, it was so bad.

He specifically made America unprepared for something like this, ignored all the intelligence, failed to act, and refuses to put large-scale actions in place. There will be tens if not hundreds of thousands of deaths that he is personally responsible for.

Sadly, you could have written these exact words about R R during the AIDS scourge.

The MP for Sefton Bill Esterson, raised the point about claiming through the DWP - 33 383 people were in the queue ahead of the individual that sent bhim a sceen shot. The response from Stephen Barclay was 'free up and priorities'. What. There isn't enough capacity for everyone who can claim to get their claim sorted. It's simple - universal basic income of £350-£400 per week. But no. All the 'boy wonder' wasn't to go on about with the self employed in Tudor times 'deserving and underserving'. Sunak is out of his depth and flapping around not knowing what to do. People need money now and all he can say is 'we'll have something to say shortly'. Code for we're useless and people can continue to suffer.
