Ever get the feeling that something has never been quite right with all this?

Best of luck to all those people who chose/were tricked into having an experimental trial vaccine shoved into their arms way back, just so they could have a week in salou at some point; this was all while the government were having cheese and wine and vomit sessions, beery quizzes and parties while we couldn’t see our friends and families just for a quick catch up, or our relatives who were sick, or go out or do anything that we used to do, because big scary virus blah blah blah.

Who’s getting more boosters in the future, even though JVT just said he’s binned masks off and said we all have to live with it? Yummy, me please, can’t wait, thanks so much.

Anyway, Who’s for a nice big post-convid party now then, since if I now catch covid, I still have to go to work because I no longer qualify for company sick pay, since the govt changed the criteria so now I should carry on unless I feel too sick to work, thus potentially infecting all my colleagues and their families, who may be vulnerable and used to have to shield - don’t worry though, carry on regardless, the last two years of our lives we lost just don’t matter.

At the party all covid vaccinated and anti “this” vaccine folks are welcome, I don’t discriminate, but no “special” Matt Hancock style cuddles please, cos of monkey pox, ok? Ta.
The reason we don't have to wear face masks and the like anymore - unless you choose to, which is fine like - is because so many people are fully vaccinated. It ain't hard.

I can’t see many people complying this time if Boris Johnson ever brings back restrictions, not after everything that happened in Number 10

The anti-vax grifters such as Bret Weinstein and post-Malone are making a lot of this sham paper that purports to show that vaccines are harmful. The paper is a great exercise in p-hacking and double-counting, not science or rigor; it’s also the type of paper dholliday would link to with his “I’m not anti-vax but here is another long anti-vax thread.” Good take-down of this sham result here.

The pandemic also led to increased medical waste. Production and use of medical equipment such as personal protective equipment contributed to plastic waste. This required a larger than normal number of masks, gloves, needles, syringes, and medications. During 2020, approximately 65 billion gloves and 129 billion face masks were used every month and disposed of. Enforced public use of PPE has posed challenges to conventional waste management. Greenhouse gas emissions resulting from the treatment process of this plastic waste ranged from 14 to 33.5 tons of CO2 per ton of mask, the largest share being from production and transport.

Am currently holidaying in Cyprus, and as of tomorrow they bring back in mask rules for people in indoor places. They only relaxed the rules about a month ago.

I got a bus this week, and it was compulsory masks. No mask, you don’t get on the bus.

The staff in the hotel I’m in are very scared about being shut down again. Really hard to see.
