I can only speak for myself and my own experience. I had it last week and thankfully it was a pretty mild cold, although it lingered for a few days. Same for a couple of relatives and friends who have had it over the last couple of weeks.

I've heard of quite a lot of people I know who have it, or have had it recently. But thankfully haven't heard of anyone who has had a serious illness.
Same really including a lot of older family members. Luckily vast majority of my family and friends are boosted which seems to have had an impact. I haven't had it as far as I'm aware, despite living with various people who have.

Similar experience for me. I’ve had colds when the symptoms themselves were more severe and uncomfortable, but they’re still lingering and I only tested negative yesterday after 13 consecutive days of positives. Wouldn’t want it again in a hurry.

I tested positive for about 7 or 8 days I think, but maybe had it a couple of days earlier at the start. I've definitely had much worse cold symptoms, but these seemed to last a little bit longer than normal. It wasn't too bad for me though.

@Bruce Wayne is the finest mod we’ve ever had in this part of the forum. He and I would invariably disagree politically, but he always took a balanced approach that did not simply follow his own beliefs. I’ve no idea why he gave up modding, but this forum could do with Bruce back again….
When you're telling @marnie to fornicate with birds it's perhaps not the right look.

Ha ha. This is why I always laugh when people only listen to alternative media, because of how they say the MSM is so horribly biased.

As if alternative media doesn’t have its own views and biases that drive it.

Not exactly difficult to see where that interviewers’ biases and motives are.

Just to make a slightly deeper point on this interview. The interviewer clearly has an anti-lockdown position, and points out the social and economic costs to lockdowns, which are reasonable points to make. There are defiantly consequences to lockdowns which are detrimental to society.

However, he doesn’t acknowledge that opening everything up as we have, also has bad consequences. Just from a personal point of view, my mother in law has needed to be admitted to hospital twice in the last 3 months, and on both occasions has had to wait 10 hours for an ambulance, on one occasion lying on her floor after falling. For 10 hours. This wait was due to A&E being overran due to Covid admissions and staff absences due to Covid, and this situation is the same across the country.

I’m all for getting back to normal, and lockdowns being a last option, but in the face of a new endemic virus, NHS capacity has to be increased, unless we, as a society, are willing to accept our loved ones waiting 10 hours for an ambulance when they need it.
