Interesting
Stopped reading as soon as you lead with this. "Interesting isn't it?" "Just posing the question" I suppose.
Interesting
I am just quoting the ONS stats and have provided links.
Except I didn't lead with either of those things.Stopped reading as soon as you lead with this. "Interesting isn't it?" "Just posing the question" I suppose.
Deaths with pre existing conditions vs deaths without pre existing conditions is a useful statistic I think, but what do I know. I defer to the ONS judgement and I'm happy to stand correctedHere’s the ONS advising that using that metric in isolation is “both factually incorrect and highly misleading”.

ONS debunks ‘spurious’ Covid deaths claim shared by David Davis
Suggestion true number of deaths in England and Wales could be as low as 17,000 is factually incorrect, says ONSamp.theguardian.com
There are around 3 million people with comorbidities in the UK. Do they not qualify for a Covid death in your eyes?Except I didn't lead with either of those things.

I'm sure that MT would have made a better job of it. Hate to say it butMate, Boris is not by any means the kind of PM I would be comfortable with. Tbh the late Thatcher would have handled this better.
Meanwhile over here restrictions being removed while our Taoiseach (PM) tests positive.

No, they have very different meanings.Answer me this. Do these two sentences have the same or comparable meaning;
Deaths where covid 19 is the underlying cause
Deaths where covid 19 only mentioned on the death certificate
I would argue, without trying to be misleading, that they are comparable.
Yer I got it wrongNo, they have very different meanings.
Underlying cause would indicate that other factors are present and relevant - co-morbidity if you will
Which, without trying to be misleading, is pretty much the opposite of being the only factor.
So what you have done is taken one definition for one virus and the complete opposite definition for the other, but presented the result as if they were the same.
I don't believe you would have done that on purpose, but it does illustrate perfectly why listening to actual scientists is so important
