It will get everyone in the end…at least it’s getting weaker all the time….you’ll be fine, just like having a bad cold or the flu….

You say that and it's true in some cases including me, but my sister in law is really bad with it, he's ridden for four days and some really painful side effects which I won't go into. Makes you wonder whether there are a few strains of Covid going around at the same time, edit there probably is and I haven't kept up. Btw she is fully based and boosted like me.

This " it's just a bad cold or a mild flu" is right wing propaganda put out by the likes of the DM to lull people into accepting the dropping of anti covid procedures.
The virus is still widespread and serious or even dangerous for many people.
Don't be fooled by right wing government propaganda.
Hope your sil gets better soon.

Obligatory mask wearing and the pass santé has for a wide range of situations, been discontinued here in France.
Many health professionals say it is too soon but the health minister thinks otherwise.
However, I have been to a couple of supermarkets and to the market in our local town this morning. At the outdoor market at least half the people were wearing a mask and in Lidle and Intermarche 9 out of 10 were.
Interesting that Lidle staff were mask less, the other shop staff were wearing.
It still seems to be being taken more seriously here than in England

It’s just that France is weeks behind the U.K.. It was the same here with people continuing to wear masks until confidence returned and now it’s rare to see one in a town centre……

False confidence. From what I gather from relatives and friends around the country , sickness is pretty widespread although often referred to as coughs and colds going round.

Day 10 for me now. Fully vaxxed and boostered, but definitely picked it up in the office when a colleague came in “negative but with symptoms”.
The worst thing for me is the complete lack of energy. Have tried to work through it from home (more fool me) and my work is heavily language-based. Done the job for 20+ years but the past week I’ve barely been able to focus for more than 30 minutes at a time. Lost my sense of smell, which is really disconcerting, especially when trying to cook!
Otherwise it’s constant headache, a dry cough, achy limbs, out of breath after a short walk around the block.
It is far from “just a cold”.

It could well be, but the U.K. has returned to normality…..
Back to normal? What with around 1.5 M infected people around at the end of last week.
Back to normal? with so many sick people in the population.
I have family in Liverpool and in Bristol and both lots have had illness among them in the past week.

Started feeling rough on Wednesday, just felt like a cold, just tested positive. 2 'kin years I've dodged it....
Same here. Went to a work thing on Wednesday and there was one person coughing and looking rough. Felt a bit rough Thursday and yesterday, and taken two tests today. First was negative, second was a stone cold positive. Feeling tonnes better than I did this morning though, so hopefully, that’s that… ??

Wife and I spent the last 2 weeks with "something" like. The Mother in Law tested positive, wife tested negative, daughter tested positive.

Not enough tests for me but I just assumed I had it or I at least had something I didnt wanna pass on and kept myself to myself, meant I had to miss the last 2 Everton games like, BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.
