We do. Politicians listen to the scientific advise, doesn't mean they entirely follow it.

Like when the JCVI advised against vaccinating 12-15 year olds?

And the politicians pushed on with plans to vaccinate 5 year olds?

We have come full circle. Good that we agree that we should follow that science and that children should not be vaccinated.

Doubt I'll be getting my kids vaccinated against Covid at this point in time. My son has it at the moment, according to the daily LFTs we're having to do, and he's not even a tiny bit ill. Seems silly to give them unnecessary medication, whatever it is.

I'm entirely pro-vax, triple jabbed, and my kids have had all their usual jabs.

I don't see this one as necessary at this point in time. If the situation changes I'd consider it.

Awkward

Where are the statistics to back this up?
Has been in the top 10 causes of death of US kids all last year, particularly bad during Delta

What is already known about this topic?
COVID-19 can cause severe illness in children and adolescents.

What is added by this report?
Weekly COVID-19–associated hospitalization rates among children and adolescents rose nearly five-fold during late June–mid-August 2021, coinciding with increased circulation of the highly transmissible SARS-CoV-2 Delta variant. The proportions of hospitalized children and adolescents with severe disease were similar before and during the period of Delta predominance. Hospitalization rates were 10 times higher among unvaccinated than among fully vaccinated adolescents.

you might have peer reviewed scientific reports, but @luuk_deventer has a laughing emoji and The Daily Telegraph...

Tough to know which is more credible

I am not saying that a doctor would lie. I am saying that deaths have been tracked as "for any reason within 28 days of a positive test". That is problematic when accurately assessing the true toll of COVID.

As the political reaction has been in response to these figures, it has resulted in a large % of deaths being misrepresented as due to COVID, this is clear.

It is scary that they want to inject children with this. Almost all risk and no benefit.

Your wrong mate. Ive already explained and posted a copy of the certification and clinical reasoning for the variety of outcomes, of which they aren’t always Covid or not as binary outcome like you suggest.

This article is from the BMJ, which supports the points I was making in regard to certification. I’d suggest it may be more indicative of the clinical reality, than articles from the Daily Mail and Telegraph, even press briefings from politicians. It also has many links in the footnotes

If anything I think the U.K. have underported the extent of RIP’s. The 28 day cut off point from testing positive, always troubled me and I don’t think it’s clinically reflective of virus progression. Simply put if you die 29 days after a positive test you are not counted.
