Current Affairs Coronavirus Thread - Serious stuff !!!

The covid response is everything to do with politics. Im not really trying to argue with anyone I am just curious about point of views.

How do you explain one of the most vaccinated countries in the world, Israel having the amount of cases, deaths hospitalisations and not having a 'normal life as possible' Or gibraltar pretty much canceling Christmas. Just curious.
Deaths and hospitalization rates compared to cases have dramatically lowered in Israel waves since vaccination became available

Anybody being 'curious' about a yearly booster only needs one response.

Flu jab, has been yearly for how long, yet people still get flu. Weird isn't it this science/medical stuff!

There will be a point where it will simply become a case of getting it with, instead or an adapted vaccine that covers all bases (I am no scientist but the latter is the most logical, surely). It won't be mandatory but those in the high risk groups strongly urged to get it.

My work here do a flu jab every year, on site. Simply put your name down, get a time slot where you can stop working for 15 minutes. It doesn't even fell like you are wasting any time.

Serious question to anyone willing to answer.

I’m not saying either way my position, just curious.

How many vaccines are you personally willing you take?

As many as recommended by scientists.

Or is there an arbitrary cut off point per say.

Israel are due to take their 4th booster soon.

It’s not unreasonable to suggest there may be other variants in the future.

I’m not wanting a debate on vaccines really as it’s boring and the arguments have been made.

I’m just curious do people have a cutoff point let’s say if we’re 12 months down the line and on 6th vaccine.

Would people be happy if the science dictates that?
It’s amazing how quickly the mask slips. “Don’t want a debate” and “would you be happy if science dictates?”. Lots of people reply saying they would be happy if it’s what science dictates and you start bringing up myocarditis and the vaccines being a political measure.

This would be great

Maybe because I don't want to get banned if I start naming certain things. Have to walk on egg shells on this topic any decent against orthodoxy is shutdown and debate stifled. Hence me not wanting a debate, as I enjoy this forum.

Be brave, name them. Maybe we can try and guess your stance and you can simply reply with a yes or no, you can't be banned if we bring it up.

I will start by guessing that the thing you won't name is aliens have given us this virus and taken over all of the medical/scientific world to give us a vaccine that will make us do their bidding.

Interesting comment from one of the top dogs in the COVID advisory board to the UK government RE our future response:

"In a bad flu season, 200-300 die a day over winter and nobody wears a mask or socially distances, that's perhaps a right line to draw in the sand."

Hopefully 2022 is the start of common sense and we treat the new less desdly strain as we do the Flu (but more cautious obviously).

There are tons of places you can "name certain things" on the internet. And I am sure those echo chambers will back you up. On here, a football forum at the end of the day, we prefer to edge towards orthodoxy, or science, if you prefer.

We (staff) also take an interest in "new" posters legging it to this thread a few days after being cleared to post freely. Call it intuition.

I think that bit in bold is all anyone is asking for. It's only the past few days that this appears to be the direction of travel.

Had my booster at work last week too and they also do flu jabs. It's nice.
