Current Affairs Coronavirus Thread - Serious stuff !!!

I've seen a lot of mentions of heart concerns recently. 3-4 people I know are complaining of heart palpitations since having covid. A friend said a doctor told him it's a worrying trend that they're noticing..
It fuels both sides of the vaccination argument now as nobody really knows if it's the covid or the vaccinations causing all these heart problems. So the boring debate just rumbles on with both sides thinking they are absolutely right when it could be a mixture of both.

I'd imagine it's likely to be both. Vaccination after infection and infection after vaccination.

That then leads to the question...does repeated exposure, from any source, add strain onto the heart? Taking that thinking forward is almost unthinkable considering the expected repeated exposures we all expect to get...

Novak just got the boot lol

I do love it when chickens come home to roost for idiots.
Yep. There is probably some debate to be had as to how much Australia’s current rules make sense, but for the time being, they are what they are. Djokovic appears to have thought his wealth/fame meant they didn’t apply to him, and I’m glad to see the Australia showing him otherwise.

Happy he got the old heave ho. The whole episode was a mess from all sides.
He doesn't come out of this with any shred of respect. I feel as if he had said, look I am unvaccinated. I am not going to get vaccinated but I have had COVID and here is my proof, and I will take whatever decision is given. He would have garnered a lot more respect.
However it's like he turned around and said, sod the laws of the land, I'm rich and gonna challenge those laws. Cause I hit a ball over a net, therefore I am the man. The whole mess that would have been kicked up in that country would have been something else had he won his case.

Then to mingle when he knew he supposidly had COVID, lie on his visa papers, his family being bellends, and him just being him, it's the right decision. I hope the other slams turn around and say no vaccine, no play. Just to really spite him. The lad needs to have a look in the mirror and ask himself some questions. Fine, don't get vaccinated. But don't be a prat.
The Aussie government really need a long hard look at themselves as well. But I feel this was the right decision in the end.

I think we learned two things here - the current government thinks they win if they make the upcoming election a referendum on their pandemic policies, and that the internal divisions over those policies are pretty deep.

Djokovic's sense of entitlement played right into the government's hands. It will be interesting to see if they are right about the election.

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic has told the BBC Novak Djokovic was “tortured and tormented” by the Australian government and “treated like a mass murderer”.

I worry for the future of mankind with nobheads like this in charge of actual countries. Utterly clueless.

Serbia appear to my mind to be the Millwall of the worlds countries - not a lot to like about them/it at all. Happy to be enlightened by others that know more about this country.

Exactly. As if he wasn’t unpopular enough as it is, he’s had a PR nightmare here. Can’t wait for Wimbledon lol
