Yes - Covid has a significant age profile for severe disease even with vaccination unfortunately. Vaccination reduces your chances of hospitalization dramatically versus an unvaccinated “twin” of same age/health (which I why I think it a really good idea for everyone, regardless of age!) but an 80 year old is still generally more at risk than a 30 year old.
However if “avec rappel“ is with booster (my French is very poor, @spectateur, @tsubaki or anyone else any help?!) there are less over 80s with a booster in hospital than unvaccinated 20-39 year olds (no idea on how large each of those populations are to get relative rates)
I’d also note 40-59 unvaccinated group have similar numbers hospitalized (704) compared to the vaccinated 60-79 year olds (748) despite the latter group presumably being far more numerous.

Not surprising that our resident delusional aspiring pseudo-scholar, dholliday, has a hero-complex over some disgruntled, ego-centric, no-longer-mainstream scientist who is prone to hyperbole, at best, and a liar at worst. Dr. Malone is nothing more than a newer version of Dr. Andrew Wakefield.
And that sign would have been confiscated too. Would have been a pretty big sign though!
My point was that the tweet and video suggested someone had a Djokovic sign taken away. That wound people up when it simply wasn’t the case. If the guy has simply had a sign saying “Novak Djokovic” I’m certain it wouldn’t have been taken.
He’s a truly terrible person. He’s either just trying to stay relevant by spouting dangerous rubbish or actually believes what he is saying. Neither option is good
