No just to Brady step in line with other countries in the UK - eg new year's eve farce crossing borders etc .....for nightclub activity..,.....a recipie for spreading the virus ....
Omicron is a cold for the vast, vast majority of people. If they're vaccinated or even if they aren't. If they are unvaccinated, then they are more at risk. They've made that decision. I'm not saying you don't treat them, but they've also made a decision not to get something which is proved to be very, very effective at stopping serious illness (as in illness that's going to make you go to hospital).
Way that up against weeks and weeks of more restrictions which damage already damaged business sectors, which experts have all said will not survive another lockdown. Even with funding - which would be needed and I wouldn't trust the government to provide it - a lot of places would have to shut for good.
Why do some people matter yet those people don't? It's a horrid situation to be in, but we know for certain Omicron is, for various factors, not as serious as the previous waves. A big part of that is immunity in the population.
The primary issue with Omicron is staff shortages in frontline healthcare. Locking down right now does not suddenly mean nurses and doctors aren't going to isolate. And the rate of hospitalisation infection with Omicron is so high too, meaning it's likely said frontline workers are picking it up in hospital, where they work...
Everyone can do their bit to be responsible. I've just isolated for a week with Omicron. I've tested all through Christmas. I'll go get my booster when I can - would have had it already if not for catching COVID again. Obsession with restrictions is completely missing the point and is just pure panic.
And summing this all up, I know full well our useless government will probably do it anyway.
