This has started to bother me.Wow.
Just popped into this thread for the first time in a while. Can’t believe some of the nonsense flying about with the likes of Toby ‘the pandemic is over’ Young being cited as sources.
Given the subject matter, and how important it is for all of us that we all get vaccinated, it makes me pretty angry that the site is being used as an amplifier for cranks.
Yeah, I can imagine people who have had side effects such as you wouldn't bother.
The get boosted etc message will just get weaker after each one
I've felt fine after every one I've have had so it's just an hour or so off work for me.
I suspect more would be open for a 1st and 2nd booster if on the campaigns to go get them it was clearly explained why to get them as I reckon most people don’t understand what they do.
Maybe a few posters in here could run a succinct booster campaign. You'd need four double decker buses for one advert.
I say it as I suspect there’s a large number of people with this thought process.
“Booster? What’s the point when my mates who’ve had one are getting the virus. Clearly doesn’t work. Not bothering.”

It's the hazard of establishing a "moderation-free zone" for the purposes of permitting political discourse free of censorship. There are some astonishingly scummy actors out there today who will say absolutely anything in order to push their political point of view.Given the subject matter, and how important it is for all of us that we all get vaccinated, it makes me pretty angry that the site is being used as an amplifier for cranks.
This is a very good point. "Winning" a rhetorical argument is a zero-sum game. Logically speaking, only one participant can ever have the preponderance of the evidence on their side, if absolute truth exists. (It is possible that neither side does, if equal weight of evidence exists or we're talking about something that boils down to pure preference). There’s an interesting rhetorical tactic, often used by conspiracy types, known as Gish Galloping.
It’s analogous to the Trump tactic of lying so often, that by the time someone is halfway through addressing the first 10 inaccurate statements, they’ve already moved on to the next 10.
Worth bearing in mind why someone might do this.

What I don’t really get is the aim or motive. What is it trying to achieve? There’s an interesting rhetorical tactic, often used by conspiracy types, known as Gish Galloping.

He’s just another tit on the internet who regurgitates stuff he’s picked off another site to meet his current agenda.I'd love to hear the answer to this, but it's clearly a no. He's a charlatan with a monthly internet bill.
