Current Affairs Coronavirus Thread - Serious stuff !!!

Omicron is literally a cold.
Well the very few people who are ending up in hospital from this so far are largely (not all) unvaccinated.

So no, it's not 'just a cold'. But for people who are generally healthy (whether vaccinated or not), vaccinated or have natural immunity (or both), it is much more like a cold, yes. Which was my whole point, there's lots of factors in why it is weaker. But the evidence suggests it isn't just that it's become milder because COVID decided to be nice, it's that there's a combination of things that have made it milder.

Nobody in this thread has.

Should we just lock it up?

I am allowed to express an opinion on here and agree/disagree with somebody else though? I have no experience of playing professional football but I can still call Alex Iwobi crap.

I'm not going to go and tell anyone else not to get a vaccine. I just don't know if I'm comfortable with the thought of healthy (as in, no underlying conditions) adults below 'elderly' age being instructed they would have to get a booster vaccine every 3 months. It seems very strange and I think it's a fair concern to have. I also have the right - as everybody does - to decide what goes into my body. I'm getting my booster on Wednesday. I'll have had 3 jabs in 6 months, which is already a big cut down on what was initially recommended, and COVID in that time too. If - and we don't know yet which is what I've said in my other posts - they suddenly kept pushing another jab in another 3 months... well I'm not sure I'd be jumping at the bit.

But of course my opinion is irrelevant in the grand scheme of things but that's the case for everyone in this forum.
Of course you can say whatever you like, but when you're here saying we shouldn't get regular boosters, and saying so with apparent earnestness, I have to ask what on earth gives you any credibility when making such a claim. Chew the fat all you like but when you're making recommendations that you have no real place making I feel we have to use some personal responsibility.

No you’re not mate. You have no experience or education in the field of football so you need to just shut up and listen to the experts like Farhad Moshiri.

1.9 million Covid deaths in 2020 worldwide when there was no vaccines

5.4 million today 2021 that’s an increase of 3.5million in 12 months with a vaccine

Vaccines boss innit

well done on coming up with an even worse take than usual

As an example, this is just one study showing the role social influence plays in our own decisions during the pandemic, so what we say on here does matter.

This is completely different from shooting the breeze on football as what we say on here has absolutely no impact on how Everton perform.

Was a lot of people double jabbed by the summer?
Did not one shot of it do anything?
Why have the deaths increased over a no vaccine calendar year to a vaccinated calendar year?

i) here there were, but not so much elsewhere across the world
ii) no, most of the jabs then were two doses
iii) because a lot of people are still unvaccinated, thanks to believing cretins on the internet
