This is the problem COVID isn't driven by science anymore its driven by politics, by the media, by Karens on opinion polls shitting themselves after watching ITV news telling her she's going to die an excruciating painful death if she doesn't get her booster jab 3 months after her last one.
If you asked scientists 12 months ago does a 25 year old need 3 jabs in the space of 6 months instead of giving said jab to countries that haven't much supply and need them urgently you would have been laughed at yet here we are pumping everyone left right and centre with emergency authorised medicine even if they dont necessarily need it to avoid serious illness.

The bold is entirely untrue and false. I quoted a study which reported this. I did not, admit, I “could only find cherry-picked bits” from studies. I reported that one study, so I didn’t flood timelines with links. There are many more out there which say the same thing.
Ive ignored him on this basis of this outright lie, but didn’t want any ambiguity for anyone who read his post and believed it.

Not strokes but there is data now out of Denmark, where they have started aspirating with the vaccines, against WHO recommendations and incidents of heart issues within vaccinated patients have dropped drastically.
They have compared the data with that of Norway, where like the UK and most of Europe they are not aspirating, and there is a drastic difference in cases.
So not sure on the whole stroke thing but there are things that can be done, that aren't being done, that could make the vaccine even safer. Aspirating should be a simple solution, even if it's just another level of protection from possible risk.
Find it funny how some people - not you I mean here, but in general - are happy to cry out for overcautious approaches when it comes to restrictions, yet seem to shrug off the suggestion that a more cautious approaching with vaccines could help.
It is the simultaneous “the media is scaremongering“ and “why aren’t they telling us we can die from blood clots or myocarditis“ - at least pick a lane ffs.

As for the scaremongering bit, I can only speak from the UK media that I see and, honestly, some of it does border on that. It really, really does. But I don't think it's some conspiracy. They just know what drives traffic. Fear drives traffic. It sells.
I'm not saying everything has to be overly positive, btw, but that Sky News article I shared earlier. They know full well most people will only read the headline, and they put in it that Omicron is less severe but boosters are waning. yet the actual story is boosters seem to wane against infection after 5-6 weeks, but that there is no significant drop - so far - in the protection against bad illness.
So I do get why it can be frustrating. But obviously on the other end of the spectrum you get publications that are too far the other way.

LFTs, more often than not (obviously there are exceptions) pick up the virus when you have enough of a viral load to be a danger to others. Obviously doesn't mean you are definitely not infectious beforehand but there is a good chance you aren't.
Using successive LFs definitely seems the way to go to keep key workers (well, anyone, but key workers especially) from having to isolate for 10 days.
