I'll try find the stats but I'm sure around 70-80% of the cases a few weeks ago in SA were Delta

A mate of mine got his back within a day of having tested positive. As in it went and came back in less than 24 hours. Another is 3 months down the line and whilst it is largely back it’s still not fully back to normal.

The wife has just said that her trust has told staff that rather than getting lateral flow tests for the bi-weekly tests from the trust, they now have to get them via the same public portal as the rest of us. They can enter a code saying they're NHS staff, but this doesn't seem to matter, as there is still no supply. What a shambles.
Whatever you think of their management team (for me it is unprintable) their scientists are top notch.
Detla was still the dominant variant but their weekly case level had dramatically dropped in Guateng prior to Omicron.

Worrying. Imagine the hospitalisations without the vaccine in older cohorts
Hopefully will follow the same pattern as South Africa where some of those admissions were “with covid” vs “because Covid” and those that are for the disease are still mild
