Sounds familiar. We have a senior group of 3 senior managers who were told they needed to justify there jobs or 1 had to go.Friend of mine who works in admin in the hospitals said the same thing. The biggest admin department in the entire trust has managers upon managers , they have managers , assistant managers , assistant assistant managers etc.
I remember he told me they just add managers to the pool without them even knowing what they do.
From what he says, those same people are trying to justify their jobs during a giant review currently and that they can second anywhere they want but none of the lower staff are allowed to.
They all suddenly got themselves new titles like senior manager of X wards and head of security, head of recruitment or some other nonsense. Obviously you can't get rid of such multidisciplinary talent. Do instead of losing 1 of them. The trust gave them 1 extra manager to help with the load. ?
