I expect this to be the case with this to be honest. But we won't know for sure until we test either a lot more frequently or we get the antibody tests when this is done with.

The quickest way out of this is to manufacture so many tests that the entire population can take one every 3-4 days. You can then reliably track and isolate.

I appreciate they’ve only got a small population So it’s a tough comparison but that seems to show exactly how you get ahead of it .

Are you not concerned that some selfish prick could pass it on to you or a family member because they have the ‘il do what I want’ attitude.

My cousin has it and so does his wife. I'm deeply concerned. For all of us in fact, including everybody who posts on this forum.

We may get to a stage where people have to be forcibly restricted in their movements. However and this is why I keep banging the drum of individual responsibility. It doesn't have to be that way.

Honestly calling people stupid or advocating shooting people is vile. The vast majority of folks may be uniformed, scared or trying to figure out how they are going to pay the bills if they lose their job. That's the reality.

One last thing, who's going to do the shooting. Are you?

First, rubber bullets tbh.

Second, there's no way people are uninformed at this point about this, beyond literal hermits.

Third, scared people follow advice that could save their lives - they don't go on the lash in town after being told the pubs are shutting due to a literal life-threatening contagious disease, nor do they go traipsing off to Bala for a weekend break with thousands of other amidst a pandemic.

I appreciate that we should be advocating personal responsibility - but the sad reality is that a massive portion of this population take that responsibility too literally; as in they only care about themselves.

To break the back of this thing, people need to stay home. If the threat of getting shot and arrested is what it takes to do it for 4-6 weeks, then so be it.

Uninformed?? Really? Have they had their head in the sand for the past two weeks!
Anyway I hope your cousin and his wife get through it and make a full recovery!

Btw no one is shooting anyone let the comment go that actually wasn’t made by me.

We live in the stupidest time in human history. Can you imagine telling our forefathers that we'd have a device that fits in the palm of their hands which gives us the ability to get into contact with people around the globe, literally tens of thousands of miles away like it was nothing, that gives us endless access to the news thus giving us the ability to see for ourselves what's going on. To have all that and still not be able to follow instructions to as simple as "stay indoors for your own safety and that of your fellow citizens". It's staggering, utterly staggering.

Yes, nobody is shooting anyone but how do you get through to these people? The government has tried to get through to them, softly, but to no avail.

The threat of force has to be there, unfortunately.

They've been warned so many times not to congregate in large groups. We've already lost sports, cinemas and live music because of it, now we're going to lose our right just to have a walk as individuals.

It's selfish and it's stupid.

Maybe if they see the threat of lethal force they'll get the message.
Don't be so quick to encourage lethal force. Listen to yourself!

I've been the biggest opponent of a total lockdown on this forum because I believed that we had a mature population that is capable of doing the right thing.

Sadly, that belief was misplaced. There needs to be a deterrent.

use of force on a populace will never go well , it’ll in fact take us completely the other way . Are people being ridiculous? Yes, should we be advocating shooting them ? obviously, no.

it’s only 2 days since we shut the boozers , prior to that the PM’s advice wasn’t not to go it was to ‘avoid ‘ . I accept it’s a fast moving situation and I accept a lockdown seems to be in our future but as much as I’ve no time for Johnson I’m glad a few on here aren’t running the show or blood would be running in the streets .

The deterrent would be a fine, but that haven't even told people they can't go out yet. They've said people can go out, get fresh air and exercise. That's what most people have done.

They've said to avoid large crowds and have strongly promoted social distancing. Surely it doesn't take a genius to realise that what we've seen over the weekend is large crowds.

Australia started the panic buying about 3 weeks ago, people are still lining up at supermarket doors waiting for them to open.

Good thing is that the hoarders are too stupid to realise that local grocers have shelves full of everything - they are only emptying the shelves of the 2 big supermarket chains.

I've found with panic buying that if you shop somewhere you can't access with a car, the moron quotient is reduced greatly.
