After all this I hope Northerners will start to show the Conservative government more respect. Many will still not agree with their politics and that's fine, but going round calling people out for being Tory C**** and saying Evertonians / Kopites / Scousers can only be Labour voters has to stop. The government really are doing there best for EVERYONE and I have much more faith in this current government than if Corbyn's Labour had got in. Things would be somehow even worse.
You taking the Michael?

I can understand the resistance to a full lockdown at this stage.

The only country which has completed a lockdown so far for the length required is China, and we’ve had no feedback about the impact on the general population. Italy have been doing it for less than two weeks, and it may require another 4-6.

There will be millions of people who are currently practising good social distancing who will be locked up in their homes unnecessarily through no fault of their own. If this continues for weeks it will have a huge impact on mental health.

Im already getting fed up of my FB feed everyday full of "shut it down now Boris"

I mean I think the Prime Minister and his experts know when the right time to do that is considering the peak isnt expected until May/June.

Sadly social media has now given a voice to the idiots to whip up a storm that is then picked up by the media who try create drama/whip up further angst in the population against the PM.

Sooner everyone shuts up and lets the authorities do their jobs the better.
What are you on about?

This is just my completely non-PhD educated opinion, but I think it's an easy to see how CV could well have infected anywhere between, let's say 10-30% of the general population already.

The reported cases can only ever be a fraction of the true number of cases. Most people who get it will just have mildish symptoms which they will naturally recover from.

This is almost certainly a GOOD thing, as it will mean that the fatality rate is much lower than the reported rate.

I will be going into a 12 week lockdown tomorrow, while also looking after and teaching a 7 year old because the school has closed. At least after her mum comes home I can nip down to the pub...oh no wait...well at least I’ve got this place to keep be sane...oh no wait......

People demanding full scale lockdowns - doing that now means we would have to stay in lockdown until potentially the middle to end of June as thats the expected peak time of the virus.

I hazard a guess all those currently evoking the Blitz spirit after self isolating for a grand total of 2 days wont be so positive if they haven't seen the outdoors in over 8 weeks.

Simply put the experts will know when the right time is to turn on and off these lockdowns based on a number of facts - thats why Susan, 36 from Warrington needs to pipedown and let them get on with it - same as the reporters desperate to undermine Johnson and whip up a fuss.
