Suggest you go and look at the definition of "black alert" and what it actually mean s for the ambulance service and NHS.

Twice the infection rate of other major European countries, far higher death rate than other major European countries. Yet the media is misleading British electorate thousands of avoidable deaths because 'scare mongering' - to coin a phrase. Grow up and don't be so bloody stupid.
Calm the hell down, this is exactly what they want, panic stations. When the death tolls start hitting the 6/7/800 marks again by all means everyone should be concerned. At the present time it is hitting between 120 and 180 half the week and under 50 at weekends

No hospital figures reported for today, last Sunday’s late revealed total was 34

All settings - for the 28 day cut off, 57 deaths were announced today, down 91 on yesterday and up 19 on last Sunday. The 7 day rolling average rises to 121.29

For the 60 day cut off, 71 deaths were announced today, down 113 on yesterday and up 27 on last Sunday. The 7 day rolling average rises to an even 148

I don’t think it should be panic stations Stevie but the 7 day rolling average is bobbing around 148, ie over a thousand deaths per week , and has been around that level for several weeks now so it doesn’t seem to be merely a blip.

Thankfully it isn’t the dreadful highs the UK has but, especially compared to European peers, I don’t think it is exactly nothing to be concerned about either.

Think the next couple of weeks are likely to have rather ugly COVID figures near you unfortunately

My wife had a couple of text messages today from the NHS saying 'your test results may not have been accurate'.

Tell us something we don't know NHS!! She still quarantined because it was pretty obvious she had it despite the negative pcrs, I wonder how many just carried on...

Dr. Anthony Fauci said those who received the one-dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine should’ve been given two shots from the beginning.

“What the advisers to the FDA felt is that, given the data that they saw, very likely this should have been a two-dose vaccine to begin with,” Fauci told ABC’s “This Week” on Sunday

He also suggested that those who received a shot of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine would likely have the flexibility to get a booster from either Moderna or Pfizer.
